We recently stayed at Stumpy Meadows Campground. Upon arriving, we were greeted by name by the camp hosts, David and Elizabeth. We can't say enough about how accommodating they were for our group. They knew that the site we reserved (#18) was pretty sunny and offered us other options if we wanted more shade. We took them up on their offer and selected sites #6 and #8. Our spots were great, plenty of flat ground for our tents, close to water and the restrooms. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Unfortunately, halfway into our trip, the sheriff came through the campground at 4:30 a.m., issuing an evacuation warning. There was a fire developing in the area. David and Elizabeth kept us updated on the info until we absolutely knew we had to go. We made our reservations through recreation.gov and saw they automatically refunded our unused part of the trip without even requesting it.
