We visited 8/4-8/6. First time here. Site 23, full sun and a lot of loose dirt. Think sand pit, but it's camping... dirt is part of the adventure. Some sites like #11 are small. Be prepared for unpredictable mountain weather. We were met with warm rain throughout the entire weekend. Also, a thunderstorm for a hour in the middle of the night. The trail to the lake is beautiful. Don't let the fire damage prevent you from camping here. The regrowth is already abundant and the campsites are not damaged. You can see damage on one side of the lake. The wildlife was minimal (squirrels, birds, bats, and lizards) but this is bear territory so be prepared. Many thistle and nettle plants, I highly recommend long socks/pants on hikes. Water spigots, dumpsters for trash, fire rings, and vaulted toilets. No electric and limited parking. 1 vehicle included with campsite, $7 a night for an extra vehicle. Camp host will come collect or request on arrival. They're friendly if you're friendly first. Quiet hours 10pm-6am. Fishing is probably ok if your on a boat, we didn't catch anything from the shoreline. The sunsets are gorgeous here. We look forward to returning in the years to come.
