My new neighborhood party store! Just a quick bike ride or walk down the hill! I used to think this place was sketchtastic, but that wasn't fair of me at all. I was young and naive.
After years of having friends who live close to this place, I realize it's just totally down to earth and friendly. There's a great variety of clientele, the cashier guys are friendly and get to recognize you if your a regular. They have some surprising selections (My fave Clementine Izze? Yes! And it's the only flavor of Izze they carry, too), as well as something the wins me over -- you can buy single tall boys, detached from the pack! Perfect for porch-drinking in the summer!
Regulars can often make special requests and they are kind about honoring them (for example, a good friend wanted to be able to pick some good ol' Stroh's up here, so now they order it for him). Aside from the standby cheap beers, though, they also carry some microbrews, local faves and other "fancy beer."
I'm pretty geeked that this and Knight's Market are my 2 new neighborhood places to run for last-minute items. The only downside? Of course it's not Summit Party Store's fault, but the bike ride *there* is easy... it's the ride *back* that's all uphill. Should have chosen my house location better in relation to the party store, I guess! read more
