This place was on my Yelp radar since it hasn't been reviewed, so I stopped there for gas late on a weekday afternoon. One of the reasons for my low rating is the location: it's on one side of a divided commercial road, so you can only access it if you're driving south on Route 2, which limits its usefulness.
It has a decent number of pumps and an adequately-sized parking lot, and more notably, there is a Subway inside the building, to the left. The store is actually fairly presentable, both outside and inside, and inside is not too cramped. Selection of snacks and drinks is limited. There is a bathroom, but a sign posted on the door said it was out of service, so that's another reason for the low rating.
The checkout experience was very odd, though. I was delayed a few minutes as the cashier and a customer, who was playing lottery, went back and forth over a potential winning ticket, which was quite annoying. When it was finally my turn, I wanted $15.50 of gas, and asked for a receipt, and the cashier, whose native language was clearly not English, seemed confused for some reason (or maybe he just confused me). When he did hand me a receipt, it included $2 for a lottery purchase, even though I only gave him money for the gas. The whole thing was very odd, perhaps even shady. Anyway, I pumped my gas and left, but I could go another 10+ years without wanting to stop here again. read more
