STAY AWAY. POORLY SANITIZED EQUIPMENT. CARELESS BARBERS. HIGH INFECTION RISK (I am a physician). Went in for a haircut. Jorge cut my skin (on the back of my neck) several times with the clipper and did not stop despite me wincing several times. The clipper was not sanitized appropriately as it was sitting on the counter when he started the haircut and I did not see him spray anything on it and it certainly wasn't dipped in an anti-septic solution. At first, I thought the clipper was just pinching my skin, but when I went home, my wife pointed out several cuts on my skin. I am a physician, and realized immediately that an unsanitized barber shop clipper causing SEVERAL skin cuts is a high risk of infection. Went to the emergency department and had testing done for HIV and Hepatitis C. I was also prescribed prophylactic anti-HIV medications for a 14 day course. When I spoke with the owners, instead of apologizing, she threatened to pursue this legally (which I am perfectly comfortable with). I told them that its only fair that they pay for my ED visit and blood tests etc as their barber was single handedly responsible for putting me in this position. I will now be sending them a legal notice shortly. I will also be reporting them to Colorado's department of regulatory agencies (office of barber and cosmetology license). read more
