Tasting Notes is more than just a Korean coffee shop. It has a full lunch and dinner menu offering fried chicken, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, rice bowls, fries, shaved ice, pastries, and more. The ambiance is cozy and chic with ample seating and good lighting. I came by to get a pick-me-up drink. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). It was okay, nothing special. I finished it in a couple of gulps. I like my matcha STRONG and this was on the weaker side. The strawberry puree at the bottom was very sweet and overpowering. Felt like I was just drinking strawberry jam. There's a couple of things on their menu I would like to try, but it's hard for me to justify their steep prices. $18 for 8 pieces of wings, $12 for a bacon/egg/cheese, $18 for a sandwich, $20 for a rice bowl? With prices like that, I'm going to expect to be full for at least half of the day. It doesn't help that I live near Fort Lee and can get my fix of Korean chicken for a lower price. But maybe I'll shoot my shot one day and try it out. read more
