Service was good except for the gaslighting because the bouquet was not as ordered. As a former floral designer my feeling on this is... if you can't provide FTD quality/equivalence then don't take the order! Yes you might lose a little money on that first order, but you will gain a return customer if you provide the quality and service FTD is famous for. Plus, FTD provides your florist with a "recipe" and photos for recreating the look of every bouquet so there is no guesswork.
An $85 Deluxe bouquet with added $20 for a box of chocolates - minus $10 online discount from FTD arrived on time looking like a $30 Walmart bouquet shoved in a glass vase. Looking at the FTD 'recipe' it should have included 6 roses for a total of 19 floral stems & 3 fern filler pieces - 22 stems altogether. Mine arrived with 16 stems including only 2 roses & no chocolates. Gaslighting aside, I don't really care who made the bouquet but whoever did chose their bottom line over my birthday gift & my husband's loving gesture. The roses & chocolates seemed to be the biggest issue. For some reason Tharp's deducted $19.99 from the bouquet price, even though the chocolate was an extra add on that my husband paid extra for online. The florist also argued over the number of roses saying they were too expensive to give what was called for in the design recipe.
Labor cost was laughable as not one flower was wired or stems wrapped - just cut and trimmed and put in a $3 glass vase. At least the vase was the correct height.
Having to deal with this on my birthday of all days was so very disappointing. We will not be a return Tharp's customer. read more
