Out of the Thai places on Racecourse road, That Thai is my second favourite. Which is awkward because there are only two. I probably should have suspected just by its lacklustre name, but I gave That Thai a chance based on it's nice, wide front deck just above street level where it catches the breeze. Unfortunately, it seems like That Thai put about the same amount of effort into their service as they did into coming up with their name. That is, not much. The staff were slow to acknowledge our arrival, then slow to bring the menus, then slow to take our order. And the food was - you guessed it! - slow to arrive. Once it did arrive, it was okay. Pretty standard suburban Thai fare in big portions and reasonably priced. For me to return to a restaurant where I've experienced poor service, the food has to make tolerating the service worthwhile and that isn't the case here. read more
