The Dialog Cafe located along Mutual St. between Dundas St. E. and Gould St. is a coffee shop serving coffee as well as made to order Mediterranean-inspired brunch and lunch items. They use Ethica coffee beans where there is plenty of seating available inside. They also have a small patio outside where you are able to enjoy your items when the weather is nice.
Menu wise, for drinks, they have your standard espresso based drinks like Americanos, cortados, flat whites, etc. as well as other drinks like tea lattes, hot chocolate, or soft drinks. They even have affogato and a saffron honey iced latte. Food wise, they serve a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items. They have sandwiches (including a breakfast sandwich), hot breakfast dishes like shakshuka, challah bread avo toast, as well as chicken skewers and a vegetarian omelet. For lunch they have salads, mezes, and bowls (chia pudding, yogurt cups). They also have pastries on display as well as some ready made sandwiches as well.
I stopped by The Dialogue Cafe on a Friday morning around 8am to grab a coffee. The space can accommodate lots of people and I can see it being a popular spot to grab something to eat as well as to work in. I decided to order a cortado to enjoy there and I was able to choose my espresso bean (which is great!). My cortado was made at a reasonable time and staff brought it over to where I was sitting. Service was friendly.
My cortado was great! While I was enjoying my coffee, the cafe did get some customers ordering coffees and whatnot. After finishing my coffee, there is a bin at the back where you can place your dirty cups and dishes.
Overall, a somewhat hidden space for coffee and brunch! They have a lot of items for brunch which sound quite tasty. Definitely will be back to try their food next time! read more
