Well I'm on for some bird action now. Nope I've not switched buses, I'm talking about the Owl Pub.
Just out of Leeds in the Rodley area it's a nice little player. For a start it's a nice building and is done out well. The reason I like it though is because it's got quite a bit to offer.
They are really doing their bit for the local and underground music scene and still have live gigs on most weekends. That has to be commended so I am. You'll get everything from blues to folk. Worth a punt even if the genre isn't essentially your thing.
Next up the beer is good. Oh yes, we're talking good casks and local too. Fancy a sip from a Leeds, Skipton, Sheffield, York, Ossett or Saltaire brewer? Then no problemo, my amigo. You'll also find Tetley's and John Smiths too. Aint half bad lad.
As for the grub, it's proper pub food here. We're talking roasts, burgers and lighter bites at lunch too. Never going to win prizes for originality but you've gotta love some pub food as it should be at times.
Don't be fooled, this is a pub. It's not a bar but we like it for it. read more
