Finally made it to the reinvention of the Lion and Owl, now known as The Paddock. The photo here is of the decorative separation of space. It was really attractive and a nice look.
The menu was very interesting in that you could get anything from a whipped cheese chili con carne or Sea Bass. I had both! And, both were excellent. The reason I could only give a four star review is because the Seabass that I and my friend had, was only lukewarm. It was served in a cast-iron skillet, and most dishes served like that have a very hot skillet and therefore the food stays warm. We both sent ours back to be reheated, and the result was about the same. So that, for us, was a disappointment. Portion sizes are a little on the skimpy side. The cocktails were excellent and served very beautifully. The atmosphere was relaxed and refreshing and all in all, it was an excellent evening. And, the price for three of us, two of whom had two cocktails, each, was very reasonable. That is unlike their previous iteration of the Lion & Owl.
There were also several options on the menu that I am looking forward to coming back and trying, especially once their outdoor patio is open.
And finally, the service was excellent, though a bit confusing. I say that because we had at least three different people that came to our table. One took part of the order and then a little while later somebody else came and asked for our order and then they told us everybody is helping everybody out, but we didn't know who got our order officially and we didn't want a duplication. read more
