Christmas shopping in Stanway. A once-a-year experience that I hate but there is always a PLUS. That is a visit to The Princess Charlotte for a pint or two and a nibble for lunch. Arrived 'early' by about ten minutes. We were shown to a table and told that the kitchen opened at 12.00 and would we like to order coffees or teas. We ordered a pint of lager and a spritz. Maybe we were the unusual aged couple. Service was exceptional by charming young ladies who were full of the crimble spirit but, also, professional. We decided on a mixture of starters and two plates. No problem to the staff here. Chicken goujons, buffalo wings, deep fried mushrooms, garlic bread and, of course, the obligatory skin-on chips. Delicious. Always a great pub with friendly service and a, seasonal, atmosphere. Thanks guys and gals for a delightful lunch. Have a good Christmas. read more
