I'm going to get the less than happy thoughts out of the way so I can rave about the positives. I wanted badly to give 5 stars yet I couldn't fake it because all I could think about was the small bathroom. (I had a king room with private entry) I completely understand the Inn has history, yet another towel bar below the existing one to accommodate more/used towels was badly needed. It would have also been nice to have a small etagere in the open space next to the sink for toiletries. (The existing built-in cubbies behind were hard to get to and a nuisance. (I'm 5' tall) Secondly, a long bench (on the sparse wall space) by the door would have been fantastic to place items/drop point while underneath, shoes could have been tucked away. & I also had to manually roll up and down the shade at the front door to keep the bright porch light out... What :( I feel iffy and critical in stating these points yet it's about the finishing touches that makes a house feel like home when away from home to me. I'm one of those people when traveling I want to not have to struggle. The website will display the aesthetics as eclectic and refined. It's definitely contemporary, yet You Are On Top of a hill and are Surrounded by Trees. Fresh and dead.. Also, new furnishings and remodeled rooms doesn't mean every aspect of the Inn is new. (Keep that in mind when having expectations) The Inn is right in the middle of town. Convenient to everything. & the staff was professional and kind. I loved that I woke up, walked down the hill and my days were effortless. The town was filled with people & charm, yet unlike Kennebunkport, it feels more youthful & fun. There are many different seating /lounging areas outside the Inn. I dedicated one afternoon laying out by the saltwater pool and hot-tub (i didn't use) Staff made rounds and provided full service outside at well as the Inn providing 'complimentary' refrigerated bottled water, pool/beach totes/towels, and chairs for the beach. We had a small bite at the onsite restaurant bar the first night. The space looked out at the pool area and even though the space is quaint, the food was big with flavor and absolutely delicious. Ava was our bartender. She was A+.... My room was located on the side of the Inn, 2nd floor, private entry with a woods view. (Next time I'm booking Much More in Advance for the ocean view with large bathroom :)) Upon entering the king size bed was well appointed with finishing touches, linen duvet/comforter and spa sheets. I slept like a baby the first night so with some investigation i discovered Stearns & Foster mattresses. Super comfy! The Inn also gets huge points for providing some small touches thats appreciated. All in the photos... Overall, I would definitely return again. Stay longer.. and look forward to trying new things, tasting more food at the Coastal Alchemist and taking in more of what the Inn and Ogunquit has to offer. read more
