They ripped me off substantially. $250 to unlock my car door. I got locked out of my car and my cell was in my car, too, when I was interviewing at General Atomics.
I couldn't get back into the building I was just in bc the doors automatically lock when the door shuts. I knew it was going to rain so I saw some ladies walking to their car and asked one if she could call a tow truck company for me. She did, she said it was the first company that came up. The dispatcher said the locksmith would be there in 35 min to an hour. I thought okay and sat at some outdoors tables while getting lightly rained on. I waited and watched for an hour.
10 minutes later I see security arriving and walking into a building. I ran up to it in the rain and he let me in. I told him the situation and he let me use his phone. I had Towing Poway's # because the gal that let me use her phone told me to write the # down in case I needed to follow up with them again. The dispatcher took 20 minutes to getting back to me. Then she said the locksmith would call me. 30 minutes later he called me. He said he would be there within 30 to 40 minutes. I thought to myself 'so this guy wasn't on his way in the first place and was annoyed but chilled out because I wanted to get home so it was pouring rain out.
Jacob, the locksmith, arrive in 40 minutes as he stated. Then he said I have to agree to the price before he'll do the service. I knew this was going to be bad news and I said "okay. How much?" He said $250. I asked why so expensive?!?! He said because there's "a service charge." BS. I agreed because I was desperate to get put of there. It was almost 7 pm and security was losing patience with me because they needed to do their rounds but couldn't while they waited with me.
Basically this company put me under duress by purposely delaying the segicervice by an additional 2 hours while it was pouring out, dark outside, and getting late. Stay away from these crooks. You can reference the receipt. read more
