Opposite the Town Hall, The Town Hall Tavern can seem a little way out from the hustle and bustle of city centre bars and pubs. Though technically only about 100m away from everything else, this Timothy Taylor pub may seem a little bit of an odd place on first inspection. The light wood finish on the interior does seem a little too clean and bright, when the name really does suggest an older, dingier, more traditional pub.
The selection of beers and the prices are not to be sneered at, whilst the company is friendly and feels local, undoubtedly housing many regulars, despite being far away from any residential area. It's no student pub, which really makes a change from other central drinking establishments. read more
