I took my ford 302 to these guys for a reseal, valve seats, and a paint job. They originally quoted me $1200, when I dropped off the first $1000 payment then they more then doubled the price on me to $2,500. Then when I went to pick it up they charged me $3,500. I could've got a really nice crate engine for less then they charged me. When I picked it up I received the engine in a box with a towel in the bottom of it. Once I got home I realized why, it dumped all the oil straight out of the oil pan gasket into the bed of the truck. (Picture) In 2 months all the paint on the engine could be peeled off with your fingernail. (Picture) So I had to fix the oil pan gasket myself and repaint the engine again since they only did one coat of paint on it. When I pulled off the oil pan I found old gasket material in the pan. (Picture) Not to mention the owner got in my face when I told him $3,500 was ridiculous since that was 3x the price they quoted me.
