This wonderful Napa trending bakery closes around four and isn't available for some days of the week. Be sure to check the schedule before arriving. It's popular among locals and SF Bay Area visitors have been visiting it from afar. Their baked goods are pieces and slices of art. There are a lot of gourmet action here : large dry aging fridge display massive fish and a rack of meat. Caviar truffle salami and ham in the counter. We tried the: - Iconic viral lobster corndog: it comes with its own paper box and tray. Looks like an amusement park snack. Cute but it's fancy and delicious. Well made. One cannot miss out on this instagram perfect offering, luxurious and presented on a stick, in a paper box, on a tray lined with under study wrapper . It was warm and tasty. My friend who generally doesn't like lobster enjoyed taking bites out of it. A bit expensive but a fun experience! - Avocado toast : fresh mini veggies with a thin avocado paste spread (not sliced). Flavorful delicious. I slightly prefer a more chunky avocado toast. It's more savory, thin spread. - Mandarin Mousse. A Mandarin shaped chocolate with mousse cream. Their pastry and desserts are works of art. The shell is made of chocolate, light, not too sweet, the inside is filled with fluffy mousse cream which is rich and light at the same time. Perfectly balanced. Best for photographing. - Matcha cookie - delicious, just right bitterness, modern design, very cool cookie. The matcha chocolate wafers are thin and creamy, also tasty - Almond brioche - beautiful geometry - peach parfait? The flower shaped white small cake, is beautiful and delicious at the same time. The cake is small but has multiple layers of textures : creamy, cake Notable items on the menu: There's a special Julia Child menu : PRIX FIXE RATATOUILLE VOL AU VENT ROASTED CHICKEN, CHANTSAECE ILE FLOTTANTE, AVAILABLE WEEKENDS ONLY. Next time we want to get the lobster corn dog again, also try the long pain au chocolat There are quite a few staff helping with baked goods, also brings food to your table from the menus (caviar covered lobster corn dog, a must have, looks so fun, creamy spread avocado toast). Everyone's friendly. Lots of local customers keep coming in but you are helped right away. Under Study is a place filled with impressive gourmets at the heart of the wine country, right next to the MAC Napa Valley museum of art and culture (it was fun enjoy baked goods while peeking at the Julia Child exhibition through the see through window pane). They have multiple sections: outdoor seating area with umbrellas, indoor high table and chairs, baked goods, gourmet deli, and some wine bottled storage. There's also a gourmet deli like counter with dried meat and caviar and drinks for taking home. There's a dry age container with beautiful full sized ocean giant fish aging in process. Impressive culinary process here. read more
