We dined at Vaca on 1/24/26 to celebrate our mother's birthday and ordered a significant amount of food. While the meal itself was fine, what happened at the end completely ruined the experience. We had leftovers, including a broccolini dish with cheese and pecans and a skirt steak cooked medium rare. The server or bus staff offered to box them for us. When we opened the containers in the car, we were shocked to see both dishes smashed together into one small container. Steak juices soaked into the broccolini and cheese, making both items unappetizing and essentially inedible. This is basic food handling and completely unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point and reputation. No guest expects two very different dishes to be mixed together like leftovers from a cafeteria, especially during a special occasion. Very disappointing and careless, and it overshadowed what should have been a memorable family celebration. read more
