Vacarro's is under new ownership and it's understandable that they'll be making things differently. So I'll review the pecan ring without comparing it to much to the former recipe.
The pecan ring was a favorite from the former place so I picked it up for a Saturday Bible study group. If you like cinnamon rolls, get the pecan ring. If you prefer more of a coffee cake that has pecans stuck to it with a light drizzle over it, don't get it.
For more of a description: it was well-received by some but not all. Some felt it was overly sweet and the filling was unnecessary. It's filled with cinnamon and then dipped in a clear glaze, then drizzled with a white glaze.
It was pricey, setting me back almost $20 and didn't seem to warrant the price.
The girl who helped me with the order was fine and the coffee was ok.
I wasn't super impressed with the former Vaccaro's and while this place is different I'd say it's the same in terms of tastiness. It's tough to find a good bakery. I might be searching for a unicorn that doesn't exist. read more
