I hesitate to tell anyone about this place because - well, we got there just before noon and it was pretty full. It was then SOLIDLY full for the rest of the noon hour. All locals. They know what they're doing and they don't need any more business. But I have to say: this is the best chile I've had in Southern NM. Period. The red is as good as the best Norteño places (it's all different, but this is right up there with them), and that's saying something. The salsa is fantastic. The service is fast and they pay close attention to what you might need. The prices are reasonable. In all seriousness, I can see taking a jaunt from Albuquerque down to the Valley Cafe in Hatch just for a nice drive and to have a great lunch. Man, I'm so glad we stopped in.
