Valley Peak Construction LLC was not qualified to take on a project like mine. The quality of work was extremely subpar, and as of this writing, it appears that Quinn Wendt, the owner of Valley Peak Construction, was not insured as he claimed when he was on site. Fortunately, for me R. Schuh Services, Van Zealand's Landscaping and NJ Paltzer did excellent work completing the project as I envisioned and repairing the damage Quinn Wendt caused.
In order to keep this review at a manageable length, and still allow you to draw a conclusion, I will summarize the events as they unfolded.
Quinn Wendt is the Owner and CEO of Valley Peak Concrete Construction LLC.
Contracted with Quinn Wendt to remove concrete from around a tree stump and then repour cement in the area. Quinn provided an estimate that I agreed to and paid him for the cost of the concrete. He cashed the check immediately even though we agreed nothing would happen until early to mid-July about three weeks later.
Issues started the first time Quinn showed up and continued until I told him he was done with the job.
Issues include:
* Claimed he was fully insured but according to the insurance company he gave me, he is not insured
* Claimed that he would reimburse me for part of the payment I made to him but has not done that either
* Every time I talked with him, the plan had changed
* Equipment didn't work (likely a stalling tactic)
* Brought equipment too large to fit in my yard
* He wasn't careful with the equipment; damaged the flagstone pathways, gazebo, and almost took down the electrical wire coming to my house
* Ground was not prepped to pour cement; you don't pour cement over 5 and 6 inch chunks of broken up cement, which I ended up having to rake to one side so the tree stump could be ground out more
* He was going to pour cement over large chunks of cement that was broken out and never removed, which also meant that the stump could not have been ground down properly
* Would not communicate with me after being let go read more
