Even though there is a bunch of cafes in the area (across the street even), I think this cafe is unique enough to provide something different.
Like many have noted, there are many similarities to Cafe Madeleine down the street (especially with the set up of their menu and the display case of drinks ). However, when I asked, they said they didn't have a sister cafe (the question might have been misunderstood though).
Since this was a site of a former cannabis spot, I didn't know how much space it would have. It is spacious to have a lot of tables (ideal for 2 people) and more spacious spots towards the back. There is a bathroom available.
The menu is halal (beef bacon available) and has a lot of brunch options, many smoothies and immunity shot options and pastry/cafe options. Which is great because the smoothie shop a few doors down closed down so it is great someone provides those options again.
What sets this place apart from the other cafes is that it occupies the Instagram aesthetic cafe category that others along the street don't have. Its walls are bright and colorful with detailed decorations and art hanging up, the drinks are in fashionable glasses when staying in, the food is definitely plated to be on someone's social media feed. This isn't to say that they aren't any good. My strawberry matcha with oat was definitely balanced and done without powder aftertaste. Plus the people working there were nice and answer any questions I had.
According to time listed, they close at 8 pm which answers a desire I had about having places nearby places that do caffeinated drinks and treat later at night. Plus they have wifi so I can see people doing work (or having study dates). read more
