I WILL NEVER EVER EVER TAKE MY JEEP TO THIS PLACE AGAIN, ONCE WAS ENOUGH My Jeep Wrangler broke down, wouldn't shift, and I had it taken by CAA to this garage. (First time in 16 years it broke down) My husband had recently passed and he always looked after servicing. A neighbor had recommended this garage for service work and since it was local, thought I'd give them a try. What a mistake that was. Turns out they are a very small shop, looks like only 4 bays and have no storage facility, if the vehicle is kept overnight, their storage is an open parking lot. Brought it in on Saturday and by Tuesday afternoon they still hadn't looked at it. (It was a long weekend) At the end of Tuesday, was told a part was needed and it would take 5 to 10 days to get. Got verbal quote of $275.00 for labour and $398.00 parts. This didn't make sense, and so I asked for the part # for the gear shifter cable. I was told to phone around myself, find it, order it and have it shipped to them ? Next day phoned Jeep parts supplier and was advised 7 cables in a warehouse in Mississauga. Called them and told them, but then they said there was a 2nd part, they claimed it needed a Lever-Manual Control, the item not in stock. Again was told to look after getting the part myself, because they didn't have the time? Found 2 in Ontario, but got to thinking why would a lever be needed. Called back to ask what's wrong with the lever and was told by mechanic, nothing, it's rusty. So because the lever is rusty, they were going to hold up repair of the Jeep for at least 10 days until it came in, or maybe more, and also charge extra parts & labour on a new one that wasn't needed ? Told them to order the cable, forget the lever and fix the vehicle. They didn't get that organized until Thursday aft, and didn't have the Jeep released until Friday mid morning. Now a week later. Asked for invoice which was $398.00 for the parts, less $60.00 for the lever not supplied and then an extra $50.00 on the labour. Asked why because they had only put in 1 part and was told the charge was to polish the lever ? REALLY - CHARGE TO POLISH A LEVER without advising me or getting approval. They did reverse that charge and were paid $670.00. When I picked up the Jeep I found they had gone through it, everything that was in the centre console box had been taken out and was lying all over the passenger side floor. All covers from the back seat were in the back of the Jeep. Amateur radio bolted to the front dash, had been removed and was now crammed between the passenger seat and the center console. Nothing had been put back where it had been.. I will never ever go to this shop again and I sure would suggest you don't either. They cannot afford the time to get the parts, cannot pay for the parts but ask you to, and they up charge when not necessary. That isn't a reputable shop as far as I am concerned. And if you do go there I suggest that you check your bills, as up charging might be a common thing for them to do. PS. You won't get a written quote and they do not reply to emails. read more
