From Aaron's review
Apr 10, 2016
Ever since I transferred over from Sky to Virgin Media, I was excited, I thought I was getting the real-deal, I loved the idea of Tivo and being able to record 3 things at once, but those days have gone and it has become obsolete with Sky's new box "Sky Q" knocking Virgin out of the park, and now allows you to record four shows while watching a fifth, which beats Virgin's policy of recording 2 while watching (or recording another) third at once. I know it is hard to believe wanting to watch so many programmes at once, but it has happened to me before. Virgin Media's customer service has been quite poor to me from Day 1, when I joined I was promised a free Netflix subscription for six months, I even screenshotted I to prove it but when the day come I was told they had run out of codes, despite being promised online and on the phone, they promised to check the call-logs to prove it, but never did and I never got a subscription, apology or a refund and was made out to be a liar. I am also paying for 152MB broadband, which is soon to increase to 200MB, but I've never got those speeds promised, and the highest I ever got was probably around 100MB, and I often do get speeds of between 30 and 50 MB, even on the "5G" internet they provided and the "2G", not only that but it also seems to go down every day, at random times, mostly at peak times but sometimes it can go down in the middle of the day, going down for a few minutes makes it impossible to do a lot of things and is one of the reasons, I write most of my reviews in Microsoft Word now to avoid losing them. I contacted Virgin Media about this, and they promised to send an engineer round, but then they changed their mind and cancelled it, citing it on problems in the area but the speed continued to let me down, and the internet continued to go down more than Marcus Rashford in the Manchester derby, and frankly be slower than Yaya Toure. Personally, I prefer the strength of Adebayo Akinfenwa and the speed of Hector Bellerin, but they obviously can't match that. I also have had problems with my Virgin TV, where it constantly misses taping key shows without my permission, even though I trusted the Tivo box to tape it with a Series Link for example, which is frustrating. Virgin Media as a brand has really let me down, to the point I feel the need to go back to Sky, which after they probably scammed me by charging me double after being in my contact for 6 months, I shouldn't have to do. The service in their stores has been quite poor too, meaning I can't warrant giving anything over a single one star. read more
