I came as OYE (thank you Danny W for getting me and my plus one)!
Located in my hometown of Vista at the Antique steam and train museum, it's in a fun little spot with plenty of parking.
Confession: we came later in the afternoon because of nap time. I'm never doing that again!!!
Parking
$10 to park close, or you can park down the way for $5 and I believe there is a tram that takes you back and forth. The $10 was worth it for the kids
Food
Good ol' BBQ competition with every team serving a little flair of their own! But...you must get there early! By the time we were there, a lot of the goods were sold out! Still what we sampled was delicious and the sizes were ample!
Drinks
Water, of course. But local beers, liquor sampling, ginger beer and wine! Nice little "beer garden" near the stage.
Kids
They thought of the kiddos!! So not only is there interesting stuff at the museum to see, but the event coordinators had bouncy house for the kids. It's extra, but the guys were cool and let the kids cruise around in there for a while.
Overall:
It was super fun! The family had a good time! The grandparents came with us and they enjoyed the food and music. Next year we are arriving when it starts. So, next year, if you see someone with 2 kids freaking out after lunch, just wave! read more
