AVOID WAGVILLE! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND NEGLECTFUL CARETAKERS Picked up our dog with both a SKIN INFECTION & EAR INFECTION after spending $600 to board him for a week, resulting in a $500 vet bill and a sad, sickly pup. My partner and I have used Wagville multiple times for daycare and boarding our dog Ernie, but after our last experience we won't be back, and we would caution any loving pet owners against risking their pet's safety and wellbeing by boarding here. We gave clear, specific instructions to keep track of a spot of our frenchie's face that often becomes irritated and left medicated wipes with staff if it flared up. We also requested he periodically be given 1 hour breaks from playtime every two hours or if/when he tired himself out too much. One of the reasons we chose Wagville is because they have a live camera feed so you can see your pet during daytime hours. We checked it often while on vacation, but frequently went several hours without seeing our dog, making us suspect they pulled him for a break and then simply forgot, leaving him isolated for hours. Not what we're paying all this money for for you to "care" for our dog. My partner sent an email requesting an update on how Ernie was doing and mentioned not seeing him on the feed. Wagville quickly responded with a very generic (presumably AI drafted) positive response about Ernie doing well and being happy and playful and he quickly showed back up on the video feed. Two days later when we picked up Ernie, he came in from the play area with several wet spots. Apparently they let the dogs play in water when it's hot, which is great unless you're too lazy or incompetent to know that not thoroughly a drying a dog off after water play can lead to a host of issues! As any informed dog caretaker should know, trapped moisture against the skin creates a warm, humid breeding ground for bacteria and yeast, which can lead to painful skin infections. And that's exactly what Ernie ended up with--a skin infection--right in the problem area on his face that we specifically asked Wagville staff to monitor and treat with medicated wipes we provided. We rushed Ernie to an urgent care vet the following day, and $500 later he was put on oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics for his skin, and an ear spray antibiotic for an ear infection on top of all that. We dropped off a happy healthy dog, and a week later picked up a sad boy with MULTIPLE INFECTIONS. AND IT GETS WORSE. When my partner called Wagville right after picking up Ernie, they nonchalantly and dismissively mentioned that they "just noticed" his skin issue that morning. SKIN INFECTIONS LIKE THIS DO NOT POP UP OVERNIGHT. They clearly: -NEVER MONITORED THE AREA OR TREATED IT AS REQUESTED -SENT A GENERIC CANNED RESPONSE "YESSING" US INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY CHECKING ON OUR DOG WHEN WE REACHED OUT -BS'ed US CLAIMING TO HAVE "JUST NOTICED" his skin infection ONLYafter WE brought it up to them Staff apologized, rather insincerely. My partner emphasized that this situation was unacceptable and that he would like to speak with the general manager, who conveniently enough wasn't in for the day. We asked for a call back, and three days later we've received none. PLEASE, for the HEALTH & SAFETY OF YOUR PUP AVOID WAGVILLE AT ALL COSTS FOR THEIR NEGLECTFUL TREATMENT & ATROCIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE read more
