A friend told me about a pretty cool Filipino Ka-munity healing event hosted here -- so I had to check it out. Here's my experience.
AMBIANCE: The studio is located in a lively plaza with plenty of eateries nearby (The Hangar) and other cool spots nearby, so depending on the day it can feel eventful or chill. The space itself is simple and functional -- one main room that fits around 30 people comfortably. It has the essentials: storage space for your belongings, a restroom, and a clean, new dance floor that feels great to move on. The large windows bring in good natural light, which adds to the welcoming vibe.
PARKING: Mostly street parking and timed parking (2 hours). Plan ahead if there's a community event happening in the plaza or if nearby spots are busy.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Jazlynn is awesome -- friendly, talented, and clearly a strong community builder. You can feel her passion in the space. The co-facilitators for the event (Jesse and Anne) were also great -- supportive, engaging, and aligned with the healing-centered vibe of the gathering.
TL;DR OVERALL
5 Stars. Awesome experience. A good range of dance styles and community-centered events at reasonable prices. Nothing flashy -- just solid instructors, a clean and danceable space, and a genuinely welcoming community. That's really all you need. Until next time!
