Arlington Hardware is and has been a great neighborhood hardware store for at least 20 years. I remember going there as a kid with my dad and now I find myself there at least once a week buying odds and ends for the house.
It's not where you'd want to go to buy doors, lumber or the big things that you can only get at Home Depot/Lowes, but for screws, light bulbs, hammers, and all the little stuff and personal attention, it is great. You can always find an employee to bug about your project and they will help you willingly and explain exactly what you need to do. I need that as a new home owner fixing up a 60 year old house.
Are the prices the best? Not sure, but I never leave having spent more than $20, so I barely notice. Screws are something like ten cents a screw so you won't go broke shopping here. read more
