Wetherspoons. What can one say really? Yes drinks are good value. Yes food is cheap. Yes you should avoid at the weekend like the plague.
But yes, it is also probably the only pub in Brighton (save some similar place like neighbouring Yates's) where you can drink on a budget, and one of the few places you'll likely to find a big table if you have a big group of friends looking for a drink at the weekend during the day. I have drank here all too often due to variants on the above reasons, and I will return as I like being able to buy a double for under £3, or bottled cider for under £3... But this Wetherspoons doesn't particularly stand out (although the girl's loos are nice, with a separate well lit section with mirrors and stools, always very popular at the weekend...) - if you're new to Brighton don't let the lure of this place distract you from the many gems nearby, but everything in moderation I guess. read more
