This is an interesting memorial that tells the story of the White Rose resistance cell, and the people who created and organized it. Their stories are told in a museum type setting from the location where Hans and Sophie Scholl where arrested. The White Rose Memorial is in the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Its site is on the ground level where one of the greatest acts of resistance of WWII took place. In a fit of desperation before getting caught, the Scholls threw the last of the White Rose leaflets over a balcony overlooking the university's Great Hall. The leaflets famously rained down and landed a few feet away from where the memorial now stands. Hans and Sophie Scholl are probably the best known members, but theirs isn't the only story. The White Rose Memorial does an excellent job of telling the stories of Willi Graf, Christoph Probst, Alex Schmorell, Traute Lafrenz and Prof. Huber who made up the nucleus of the White Rose resistance cell. The stories of the White Rose members are told through photos, letters, personal diary entries, Gestapo, police and court records. It takes some time to absorb all the information, but is done so in an entertaining and educational manner. I recommend after viewing the exhibits in the museum, take the stairs up to the top level and stand at the spot where the Scholls threw the leaflets. A plaque marks the location.
