Admittedly we arrived rather late in the day for a coffee, it was about 4pm, too much time browsing Lakeland nearby! ;) My large latte was too full of foam, and went cold very fast, our order was slightly rushed by the tablet wielding waitress, so I randomly chose a Maple Pecan Plait with it. My mum had a Sparkling water and a Yum Yum. The waitress was back 2 minutes later to tell me there were no Plaits left, well I think that's what she said, her accent and pronunciation was a bit hard to understand. Shouldn't the hi-tech tablet have a stock taking function? What's the point if it's just a glorified pen and paper? I decided to check the cabinet myself to stave off another disappointment, sadly it was fairly empty, so plumped for Chocolate Toffee cake, which was nice, but came with squirty cream which I dislike. Overall decidedly average, their Broughty Ferry franchise may not be as hi-tech but the food and staff are much better. read more
