As a wedding coordinator, I get to work at Windows On Washington at least 3 times a year. Previous comments are true about the wedding coordinators you work with BEFORE the wedding - doing the planning of the floor plan, going over the menu etc.
But they are not actually at the event. They type up all the details and an Event Captain handles it from there. Most other banquet centers are the same, but many coordinators are there at the BEGINNING to make sure the set-up is according to plan.
But here's something funny. MOOD LIGHTING is a new trend right now and Windows on Washington is trying to take their existing lights and change the light bulbs to purple. This may sound nice, but this makes the space DARK. VERY VERY DARK.
When guests get off the elevator, there is good lighting in the foyer area. This quickly goes away as you try to look for your name on the escort card table. Romantic is nice, but I want to be able to see my food!
I feel they are still UNDERSTAFFED. When you pay for two bartenders, you don't want to see the Event Captain serving drinks.
I had to go around and re-set the guest spaces. Silverware was not straight - maybe I am picky.
All of the candles were out at this event, but I have had to be sure the cocktail hour food was put out on time and candles were lit on the tables for a previous event there.
