They're far more reasonable (it was a third of the price of the others such as Hertz or Europcar) and the company is fair and honest. After you provide all your details (a copy of your drivers license etc) they confirm the rental and you let them know which office you want to go to (I chose Guildford, their main office, but should've asked for Chertsey, which is right off the M25). Someone will meet you at arrivals with a sign listing your name. They'll drive you (in the car you're renting) to the office and you finalize the paperwork. (Note, if you have too much luggage to fit the extra driver in the car, let them know and they'll meet you with a larger van). I suggest you also ask about "full cover", which means they provide full insurance on the vehicle. It's a minimal cost and well worth the headache if you have an accident. I used another agency in years past which they bought out (Car Quest) and the full cover paid the cost of a wheel I managed to explode on a "traffic calmer". Calm my backside, I was NOT calm when that happened. To return the car, you take it back to their office at the agreed upon time and they drive you back to the airport. Very easy, well priced. FYI, the drivers are independent contractors and appreciate tips. :)

I booked my vehicle online from Decode car hire and got quite nice deal for compact car. I suggest to book a car as much in advance as it's possible, especially for summer time, because the rates are remarkably lower. The service was fine, and there were no any try to charge me for flaws or scrapes existing already before as it sometimes may happen. In case there are some demages when you receive a car and they are not mentioned in your contract, it's better to take some pictures in case they try to blame you. I do it always with no matter which company I rent from.

The Peugeot 3008 was a very comfortable car in like-new condition and we had no issues with it whatsoever. We will rent from them every time we come to England. They are so much better than the large corporate companies.

Excellent service - far exceeded my expectations…read more I hired a van from Gatwick Van Hire on 28.09.18, having picked them at random from an online search. My intial enquiry was dealt with very efficently, and I arrived early on the day of collection to find that the paperwork was ready, the van was ready and I was on the road within 10 minutes. Their Gatwick premises were immaculate, and the hire fleet were in a similar condition - I did not see a vehicle that was over a year old, or other than pristine. Upon return - which was out of hours - the facilities to leave the van and keys was effortless, and I received an email from them early the next day - Sunday - confirming that they were happy with the condition that the van was returned in. I did not have any preconceived ideas of what to expect when hiring a van, however Mercedes / Audi levels of efficency and customer service, and an immaculate hire fleet was far beyond my expectations - and they were the cheapest too. I can't recommend them highly enough! 11 out of 10 stars.
