During a road trip, I met family at 10-4 Cafe. The restaurant had easy parking, casual somewhat simple ambiance and decor. The food was average. Meat omelette was okay, good meat portion, but egg over cooked, almost brown. Smallish portion of hash browns were anything to rave about. Lightly buttered sourdough toast was below average but edible. Unsweetened ice was good. The best part of my visit was the waitress, hard working, polite, professional great service. Unsuspectingly delicious spot for breakfast! My boyfriend and I had a mini road trip from Pasco to Seattle and randomly stopped by this hole in the wall for breakfast. Nothing special about the area or the exterior of the restaurant at all, but once we stepped in we were greeted with amazing hospitality and ginormous portions of food! We both ordered chicken fried steak and eggs, which included freshly grated hash browns (we requested to be well done) and your choice of toast (we chose sourdough). The portion was impressive and everything was delicious. Some breakfast places usually make their fried steak out of ground beef but to our surprise it was real, thinly pounded steak! Super tender with great crisp and flavor. Really liked the homemade country gravy on top too, Hash browns and egg were perfect as well. Atmosphere was clean and cozy, had vintage decor and some interesting taxidermy on the walls. Seemed like a popular spot with locals who were mainly sitting at the bartop scratching away at stacks of lotto tickets. Overall great little spot for food, wish we had the time and belly room to try their homemade cinnamon rolls! If ever we pass by in the future we'd dine in again. :) read more

Acceptable diner breakfast. Scrambled eggs were cooked on a flattop grill, with a little too much oil. Bacon was crispy like I prefer. The pancakes were nice and fluffy! Hubs had eggs, sausage patties, hash browns and toast. Sausage patties were nearly as big as my pancakes! He said they were great! Pepsi, no Coke products. Lots of seating! While driving back to Yakima from the Tri-Cities I decided it was finally time to stop in and try the 10 four café! This place is located in Grandview, about five minutes off the freeway. There's a nice little business detour that takes you through the downtown and right by the spot. There's another burger spot in town it was just OK so it was nice to find another spot I had some good options. Inside is like an old saloon and a diner had a baby, and then took up taxidermy. Ended up getting the 10-4 junior burger, which was the smaller version of their giant burger. It was quite Impressive! Beef, ham, bacon, egg (added for awesome), Swiss and American cheese, freedom, bravery, love, etc - all the stuff that makes a burger great! The meat wasn't super salty, but the overall flavor was solid. Perfect the beef and you've got yourself brilliance! It also occurred to me while writing this, that putting a glass of milk next to this would effectively make it a "complete breakfast" - winning! The fries were plenty crispy, but again lacked salt. I'm not a deer looking for a salt lick, but those fried spears from heaven must beacon me to my Diet Coke after a few are consumed. Easy fixes! The burgers are made to order so calling in 15 minutes ahead was nice. A lovely stop, be it on a long drive or a short trip. read more

Made my first visit to this hometown gem. The food is really good, a traditional Sunday after-church breakfast. Nicely portioned, good-tasting diner-type food. I love bacon cheeseburgers, and I love old cafes, so 10-4 was an easy choice for me when I arrived to town. I have never had the same server twice, and almost all of my experiences with the different servers have been... odd. Not bad, but just slightly off-center. I don't know what it is. I appreciate so very much that you can order a burger by itself, OR a meal with fries. I always just order the burger. The size is sufficient, though it leans small. The price is about 8 bucks after tax. Not a great value, but it IS a great burger. The bacon-cheeseburgers are delicious. The bacon alone is delicious. The ranch is delicious. My friend ordered breakfast, and enjoyed it. The bathroom? No, honey, it is not just dingy. It is disgusting. I was honestly afraid to touch anything. Even the sink - but I forced myself to touch it anyway, and I shouldn't have bothered. The teeny tiny stream that came out was pitiful. It made me hope and pray the sanitation situation in the kitchen is far superior. I am really not that picky about bathrooms, but I am honestly a bit... offended(!) by the bathroom here! Because it's not dirty in a way that is quirky; it is downright disrespectful. Don't you give a crap (no pun intended...!) about your customers? For the price of a couple of hours of labor, you could shine it up to an acceptable level. It may never be a 4-star bathroom, but it shouldn't make your customers afraid of contracting hepatitis. But the burgers!... they really are delicious. So I choose whether or not to eat here based on whether or not I think I'll need to use the bathroom! This is one of the few sit down restaurants in Grandview, and it's a local establishment. This is where I go for a cup of coffee and some breakfast. They are consistent, but nothing on the menu is outstanding. They have a breakfast menu that they serve all day and some basic lunch items. I have had the burger and fries, which are pretty basic, but will satisfy. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is pretty consistent. This place definitely looks like the place to be in Grandview! I came here for brunch with some friend's who recently moved to the area. 10-4 Cafe's ambiance is very "hometown style", and has a bit random decor. I got the Breakfast special with 2 egg scramble, 2 pancakes, and 2 pieces of bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the pancakes melted in my mouth, and bacon is bacon, although not as crispy as I would of liked. The customer service was severely lacking, and they seemed a bit rude at the start of the meal, but they got a little better towards the end of the meal. Their was a huge lotto sign that was so brightly displayed right next to the booths that my friend's sitting across from me couldn't even look directly at us. The server was incredibly rude about dimming the light, I don't even think it should be a plain view, very distracting. Love this place! Even though it's old and run down, they sure can cook a mean breakfast! Well that's the only time I have been. Being from Seattle as a visitor to 10-4, I enjoy the place. This last time I was there, I was upset cause my girlfriend and I were really cravin the pancakes and a nice breakfast. We sit down and nobody waited on us for about 10 mins or so. So when the waitress comes up and gives us the menu, she tells us she would be back in a couple mins. Comes back and is about to take our order, and the lady says about an hour cook time!!! In the past, we've liked going to the 10-4. Yes, it's an older building, and the bathrooms are in dire need of updating, but the food has always been yummy. We stopped in Grandview on our way back from visiting family in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving, and after our visit to the 10-4 Cafe, I wish we had kept driving for a little longer... We weren't super-hungry and didn't want to eat a big meal with a few hours left to drive before home, so we ordered a chicken-fried steak dinner to share, with a salad before-hand. The salad was brought out, and it was literally brown lettuce. It was so disgusting in appearance, I cannot speak for it's taste. The dressing also had a skin on it from not being properly stored or stirred frequently. When I took it back up to the counter to show our waitress and told her it was inedible and we didn't want it, she giggled. Giggled. At serving inedible food. We had her cancel our order, paid for the cranberry juice we had consumed, and left. Literally the first time I've ever cancelled an order. I and my wife stoped in to the 10-4 today. Th?is was the first time I've being here. It was an awsome experience. to start off, The servers are verry awesome people. everyone there all have a sence of humor and are pleasent. Its a comfortable enviroment to visit. The workers treat you as one of the family. We had cheeze burgers and fries. The hamburger was home made from ground beef and not frozen. Its what you call freah and hot when you order. Stopped in here while on vacation. The special was a hamburger and cream of tomato soup with roasted red peppers. The burger was perfect and the soup was the best I've ever had. Creamy tomato with onions, celery, bacon and roasted red peppers. All for less than six dollars. The service was great. I saw the waitress set out four lunches on the counter and within five minutes some lady regulars came in and sat down at the counter and started eating. I'm usually really ghetto but my god, this place is exquisite, the pancakes are perfectly fluffy, the eggs are softer than most other places and it all comes together so damned perfectly when mixed with the amazing customer service. Never eaten here before and I now see my mistake in not doing so, perfect breakfast area in Grandview and sunnyside. This is a Grandview classic. Lots of good food, a reasonable price, but it's your old school hometown hole in the wall restaurant. So service is hit or miss. The same people have been coming here for years so it's always been this way. For any out of towers and your inpatient you can call it in and order it to go. The crappiest service EVER! We received our orders after an hour & 1/2! I own my own restaurant and I would fire my staff if they ever treated my customers like we were treated! As soon as we sat down, a waitress rushes over to us to place our order (since there was a large party that was placing their order and she wanted to get our order of 4 in ahead of them) and we hadn't even seen a menu?! So, we hurriedly scan the menu, find something on the spot and place our orders. ...then we wait. ...and wait. ...and wait longer. We had waited so long now and we were starving! We asked if we were getting close? She said your next up! Ok, then she comes to tell us after patiently waiting for an hour that the country fried steak that my fiance ordered was now out and asked him to change his order. So he does and we wait. ...and wait....and wait some more! Another 25 mins and we receive our order(obviously behind the large party). The waitress puts 3 orders (out of 4) down and puts my plate in front of someone else. ..they're so hungry they don't notice it's not their plate and put salt & pepper all over it! Not being a pepper person...I reluctantly send my plate back to be redone. Ok, her setting the plate down in wrong spot is a super honest mistake. ..no biggy, but the attitude from the waitress as if I'd done something wrong was so wrong that I was genuinely in shock! Everyone was now getting done with their meals and all I had was my toast and what anyone else donated to my cause like a strip of bacon and a couple eggs! We tried this place for breakfast. Service:good, omelet:good, coffee:good. The hashbrowns got a little crispier than desired, but the kitchen said they would fix them. My husband ate around the super crunchy stuff since the omelet was good and he wanted to finish it. Our server took off the $ for the coffee, which was decent of her. The half order of biscuits and gravy was huge, and with eggs and two strips of perfectly done bacon was around $6 - a great deal. The cream gravy reminded me of my Norwegian meatball gravy - different but very good. Have the B&G if you need to carbo-load.
