Customer service from "10 Federal self storage " in garner tried to get me to purchase this unit over the phone without seeing it first. They offered a great deal! I asked to go look at the unit first and the representative said sure I can come and there are people there to assist me. I get there and there is no one on site . Office door is locked ! . I call the number back and they say "oh we don't have staff at this unit, you have to call us by phone only and we will purchase the unit with you over the phone then you will have access to the unit of choice ( no option to see it first before purchasing!) you then have 24 hours to view the unit and cancel if you don't like it then wait 3-4 business days for a refund...what!! The only way to view the unit is to purchase it . This is madness. . I waisted gas and time driving to this place. read more

Absolutely the worst self storage I have ever rented. The unit is great, the location is great but this is a digital only facility. There is never a person to deal with directly. I have currently been standing in front of the gate for 24 minutes trying to get in. 17 minutes we're on the phone with a staff member who was really awesome and I'm no closer to getting inside the facility. The fact that I can't access what is inside of the storage unit is the reason for the one star rating. This facility gives you the option to text the word "open" 919-642-4646. Once you do that, i received an auto text that reads" your account must be past due" that's why your code doesn't work. My account is auto drafted and is paid in full and has always been. The telephone staff gave me a different code to try and that didn't work. Then she sent an override code so she could open the gate and that didn't work. I understand that these things happen, but this is the fifth time in four months that I've had this problem. Every time it leaves me without access to what I have in the storage unit. The fence and gate issue needs to be addressed immediately and their needs to be real customer service. read more

UPDATE: DO NOT RENT FROM THEM They are back at it again. This company is horrible. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. Since I have been with 10 Federal they have raised the rent 6 times in 3 years. They raised the rent again in April of 2024 and they just sent another increase yesterday. Ive gone from $96 per unit per month from when I started to now they want $177 per unit. The kicker is that they have the same units I have (10x20) listed for $133 per month on 2 different websites. So rather than lowering the rent for customers who have paid their rent on time for 3 years you want to raise the rent but give new customers a lower rent. Then they also do some so called TECH UPGRADES that I would never use (Read below) but charge me $3.99 additional monthly fee for these so called BS upgrades. I didn't move before when they increased the rent because it was inconvenient but I'm out of here before the end of the month. I have 2 units with 10 Federal Self Storage who took over from StorageBliss. When they took over they raised rent $20 per unit back in Sept 2021. They are trying to raise the rent again 4 months later another $20 per unit saying they have a raise in operational costs. This facility is unmanned so what operational costs are there. You pay someone to clean the place? We are in the middle of a pandemic, people are not working and they are trying to price gouge their existing customers.
