I have been a big talk radio fan FOREVER. Over the last 10 years or so, I have had an hour commute…read moreto work. Music stations can get repetitive and boring, so I like how talk radio changed every day. I used to really like WCKG when Howard Stern was on, then Steve Dahl. However, over the years, there have been so many changes in Chicago radio.Then, I was really into DreX on KISS FM. He too, was fired and left the airwaves. So then, since my grandma (yes, I'm not shi*ting you) used to always talk about WGN (720am), I gave that a try. For a while, I really liked the morning crew. Then, OF COURSE, they changed it up. After a few misfires, Johnny B. came back on the air. I knew of him, but had never heard his show previously. After changes again (yes, seriously), Jonathon Brandmeier has found a few home on 87.7FM "The Game". He also streams live from his website and through apps you can download such as iheartradio and TuneIn radio. After going through those apps, you look for WGNfm. I listen in my car on my way to work and then often tune in via wifi at work through the app, as the show repeats throughout the day and I can hear what I missed. Often, I am CRACKING UP in the car on the way to work. It's a fun show. I love the chemistry between Johnny, his sidekick Buzz Killman and producer Hector. So, why Yelp a radio show? Well, lately they have been joking that fans do not know they are back on the air. People have been calling in saying, "Welcome back!" He has been on the air again for a while now! The station is not promoting his whereabouts and people are simply discovering the show by accident. On Friday's show, they were discussing Yelp. A lightbulb went on in my head: maybe by using Yelp and Facebook, we can start a grass-roots campaign to promote the show. It's a great show -they deserve attention. It's a comedic and antic approach to current news and events. Often covering buried news topics with an offbeat approach, introducing pop culture, antics, phone calls, interviews, and audience interaction. Taking a light approach to the not-so-serious issues of the day and big trending topics. It's an easy listen and most always earns a few laughs. Some might say childish. I find it entertaining and could use more than the 1/2 hour I get in during my weekday lunch. The guy from Johnny and the Leisure Suits. Sidekicks Buzz Killman and Hector Soriano. They all are very animated and devoted to their work. Jurko is the lone survivor of Mac (now out of sports radio) & Harry (not sure where he's at. The Good kid can work with anyone. They go from 10AM- 2PM. C. Waddle & Silvy now occupy afternoon drive (2-6:PM). Still a fun listen. D. Bulls will no longer be here so I'll need to move down the dial for that one. Maybe now, Jonathan Hood can have his own full time show. E. Post Game (6-7 PM) is a good idea. If you miss a major interview that day, you'll get them in this one hour time slot. F. WHY Is Mike Murphy on this (or any) station for that matter? Fred Hubner makes it tolerable but Murphy is PLAYED OUT. This is the man who called Walter Payton "Wally" & was promptly put back in check (with a snicker of disbelief, he told Murphy "dont call me Wally"). Classic cluster when interviewing the '69 Cubs about the record (Cub Power) they did, Murphy took weirdness to a new level (even for sports talk). How awkward? Well. Like this: "Now. Were you guys uh.. singers in the. I can picture you all in the show... SOAPING UP.. and singing.. and then someone saying 'hey we gotta get this thing down on vinyl, huh?" Does he have naked pictures on someone? At least I don't have to hear that STUPID Intro he used to have years ago (with the Leisure Suits Light). If you want to bring back nostalgia, bring back the Monsters of the Midday (aka,Jiggetts & North). Now the flip side is that once he's off the air, we get the National Broadcast of Marty & McGee from 1-3PM. Now THIS is some fun radio. Those two are worth a listen.

They are techieonally having a new morning show with David Kaplan and Jonathon Hood that hosted nights, and how much did he and Jeff Dickerson did the show Dickerson and Hood. From 5:00 to 7:00 AM they air ESPN Radio's new morning show of Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams and Zubin Mehenti. so from 7 AM to 10 AM is David Kaplan and Jonathan which doesn't seem like a morning radio show, as most of them are 4 hours, and either air in the time slot of 5 AM to 9 AM, or 6 AM to 10 AM. From 10 AM to Noon Carmen DeFalco and John "Jurko" Jurkovic. Noon-2:00 PM is Mike Greenberg's show that is on a 1 hour tape delay, as Mike Greenberg is doing his show from Noon to 2 PM (eastern time), and Waddle and Silvy are keeping their hours untouched. So they are going too be the only team working 4 hours. And from 6:00-8:00 is Chris Bleck and Adam Abdalla which includes the baseball show from 6:00-7:00 PM. Don't know what the plan is at 8 PM assuming will be ESPN Radio national programming where they might keep the taped delayed The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz show, don't know. And how about that even through it will be on tape delay the return of Mike Greenberg to WMVP where listeners have heard him for many years off Mike and mike with Mike Golic, that they show ended as Mike Greenberg moved on to do Up First, that he still does, and Mike Golic moved on to do Golic and Wing, with his son Mike Golic Jr, that has recently been canceled after a close to a 3 year run.
