WARNING: Management Refuses to Enforce 'Assigned Parking' - 24-Hour Grace Period for Trespassers This review is to warn current and prospective residents about a critical, unacceptable policy failure regarding assigned parking at 100 Moffett, which Management has formally refused to fix. The Contractual Breach: My lease guarantees an "assigned" and "exclusive" parking space. However, management has an internal policy that grants any unauthorized vehicle a 24-hour grace period before the vehicle is eligible for towing, even after a resident reports the violation. The Result of the Policy: This policy means that even if you pay for an exclusive spot, Management's own rules guarantee a trespasser 24 hours of free, legal use of your property. When I reported an unauthorized vehicle occupying my assigned space, the vehicle remained present for multiple hours despite contacting the patrol, the towing company, and maintenance. This proves the management's enforcement policy is a failure to provide a contracted service, forcing the paying resident to park in unsafe or unassigned areas. Management's Refusal to Resolve: After a detailed exchange of emails, management (Prometheus) has confirmed in writing that: They will not change the policy allowing the 24-hour grace period for assigned spots. They refuse to provide residents with a documented, specific "Urgent Towing Protocol" to bypass the 24-hour waiting period, even after multiple requests. Prospective tenants must be aware: Assigned parking at 100 Moffett is not exclusive. Management knowingly maintains a policy that compromises your exclusive right, fails to enforce the terms of the lease, and provides no documented solution for immediate removal. We are now pursuing formal complaints with the local Housing Authority regarding the loss of a contracted housing service. read more

The Good: - Excellent staff. The leasing office staff is the most friendly, helpful, and responsive of any community I have lived in. - Amazing location. It was nice to be just across the street from Caltrain, downtown Mountain View, and the farmers market. - Nice amenities. The pool, hot tub, lounge, and roof deck are all great. The Bad: - Homeless people. Your balcony will be unusable if you live on the first floor because of the homeless people who frequent the bus stop on Castro. There was a bag of human feces propped against my balcony. - Caltrain noise. You won't be able to leave your windows open at night unless you want to be awakened by the unbelievably loud demon shriek of trains passing every ~40 minutes throughout the entire night. - Surprise charges. I was charged a mysterious "painting fee" and "deep cleaning fee" when I moved with no warning or mention in my lease. - Price. The apartments are significantly more expensive than several other options in the area. This made sense before COVID-19 because of the premium location, but that doesn't matter when you're in lockdown. read more

Unprofessional, Rude Customer Service: I have lived at 100 Moffett for the past three years. If customer service is something you value, I would recommend considering elsewhere. The office closes at 6pm. We were notified at 1:37pm via email that the elevator had broken, this happens nearly every month. I noticed that the doors to the elevator, which are normally closed when the elevator is under maintenance were open. Wondering if the elevators had been fixed and if perhaps the office had forgotten to send out an email, I decided to stop by the leasing office and ask. The lights in the all glass office were dimmed, however, I noticed an employee by the name of Shane closing up. I figured with a few minutes before closing (5:58pm), I could ask this brief question. I knocked on the door, Shane proceeded to look directly at me and look back at his computer. I noticed he was speaking to another person in the office, so I decided to wait. Five minutes later, I knocked again. He came over to the door, I asked him the question about the elevator to which he responded. "If the elevators had been fixed we would have sent out an email." I stated that before when the elevators had been broken all the elevator doors were shut notifying us the elevator was under repair so no one accidentally gets stuck. He stated that he had not had a chance to close the doors. Mind you, it had been nearly five hours since he informed us the elevator was broken. Before leaving, I asked why he had looked directly at me and chosen to ignore me instead of answering the door. He stated that the office was closed but then since he noticed that after five minutes, I "WASN'T GOING AWAY" that he would answer the door. Comical! Absolutely, no excuse for this. I pay upwards of $4,500 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment, and this is the quality of service I receive. I completely understand that it was two minutes until closing time, however, I had a brief, 30 second question. I simply would have thought that a kind employee could have answered the door stated that they were closing and asked if it was a quick question, or issue that could wait until opening tomorrow. There are other instances to reference in terms of poor customer service, however, this instance deserved to be highlighted. When I initially moved in service was better, I had a kind leasing representative named Kimberley, who no longer works here and I left a positive review reflecting my appreciation for the service, however, something has clearly changed for the worse with this apartment building and the recent 1/5 reviews reflect that. Instead of receiving a comment to this review to "reach out to us directly" at 100 Moffett it would be nice if this building had an employee who could just simply apologize for the customer service I received, or rather lack thereof. read more

Stay away from 100 Moffett as much as you can. 1. Not a safe place to live in. Homeless people would come and dump something on your patio. I thought at first it was just me but then other neighbors told me they had similar incidents before. Like shown in the picture, some culprit dumped a dirty chair, a box of dirty clothes and a boom box in my patio. It looks like they were trying to have a party in my patio. What could be more creepy than waking up in the morning and opening up the curtain only to find these stuff right outside your bedroom. And the leasing office cant take any preventive measures and can only defer to the police; 2. Loud noise from the Caltrain 24/7, even when you live in the back of the apartments; 3. What is even louder than the Caltrain is the trash truck in the morning on the Stierlin Road, which will make sure to wake you up if the Caltrain has not. 4. Beautiful apartment with plenty of well-maintained and high quality amenities. Prime location, just across the street from CalTrain and downtown Mountain View. I rent a 1B1B unit and the open design is amazing. They make really good use of space. Despite coming from a similar square footage apartment, I feel that I get way more space here and there are so many cabinets and drawers, even an extra storage closet! Definitely more storage options than I can figure out how to use. What's even better than the apartment? Getting to work with Kimberly Diaz! Kim is probably the main reason that I chose to stay at 100 Moffett. She has been a tremendous help in asking all of my questions and is always responsive to calls or emails (very promptly too!). She's also extremely knowledgeable on everything here even though it's not her main building. If you want to tour the complex, I highly highly recommend asking to work with Kim! I've toured many apartments and Kim just smokes any other neighborhood director, landlord, or manager. Seriously, she's amazing. 20/10 rating. read more

A wonderful place to call home. The units are beautiful, bright, and well designed. About the train: My unit is facing the train, and I have totally adapted to the noise (I actually love it now). My advice is to give it 3-6 months and you will likely find the noise soothing, like a ship coming in to dock. Anyway, the train isn't honking all night, and there's a good chunk of the night (after roughly 11pm) that it doesn't run. Also, keep in mind that a lot of houses in Palo Alto are built ON the tracks, and at a crossing. People acclimate. The staff here are so friendly, and accommodating. The building is secure and safe, and you can feel it. A big plus is that it is located just steps from terrific restaurant choices, public transport, and the farmer's market. read more

Luis, property manager, is exceptional. He's quick to respond to requests and is always pleasant and helpful. Kimberly, office manager, goes above and beyond with her customer service, and is lovely and friendly. 100 Moffett has given me a place to call home for several years where I feel safe and enjoy a stylish, luxurious apartment. 100 Moffett has been my community where I feel welcome and am part of an amazing Silicon Valley neighborhood in downtown Mountain View. Stay away! The apartment building is NOT safe. The storage lockers have been broken into and emptied out; bikes have been stolen. And there was a police standoff in the community service agency across the street. In some of these cases, management didn't notify the residents or even address the issue. In addition, the property managers will charge you for every tiny scuff mark in your apartment upon move out. My apartment was in terrific condition upon move-out, but they still charged me nearly $400 on top of my deposit for normal wear and tear, in violation of California law. This is an unsafe building with an incompetent management team. Spend your rent money elsewhere. read more

A wonderful place to live. Lived there for 6 years and loved every minute. On one review, they state the lockers were broken into. Yes they were, the one right next to ours and only one time and only one locker. But we were informed immediately and I spoke with the locker owner. Crime unfortunately seems to be everywhere and I can tell you the staff there are proactive when it comes to safety. The building is clean and electronic locks on all the doors is very nice. The entire staff has always been, just the best. I would highly recommend this as a place for you to visit or especially to live in. read more

My husband and I just recently moved in 2 weeks ago, and so far we have had a pleasant experience. Fernando was really great with helping us no matter what question/issue we had. My husband and I really love the location of the apartment as well as our apartment itself. The ceilings are the first thing you'll notice and make our apartment seem much larger than it is. During our apartment search we kept coming back to this apartment because of how much we liked it. Our only hesitation was about noise. We read about the caltrain noise going in throughout the night and early morning. We never slept near a train before so we didn't know if it would be okay with us. We did our research and since the cal train crosses an intersection it is required by law to honk its horns, which is why we were hesitant about the units in the A building. Holly, another leasing agent even was kind of us to send a recording of the noise from the A unit. Ultimately we couldn't stop thinking about these apartments and decided to go for a unit in the C building. After staying in our apartment for 2 weeks in building C, I can tell you that the train noise does not bother us at at. We can hear it faintly every once and a while, but to be honest, if you're not actively trying to hear it then it shouldn't bother you at all in this building. I can't speak for the other buildings. My husband does think we would've been fine in the A building units though. The only complaint of noise is from the unit above us. We have lived in apartments before and don't mind apartment noise usually, and we didn't think it would be a problem this time around. However, we noticed pretty loud sounds in the middle of the night from 1-3 AM, which is pretty late. We're not sure if the noise is being amplified by the tall ceilings that we have. The good thing is that we contacted Fernando, and he has been working with us to get the noise down above us. And so far it has definitely helped. We're hoping that we get used to it and the tenant above us helps with reducing noise as well, so we shall see. Nonetheless, we're still very happy and can't wait for what's to come here :) read more

We lived at 100 Moffett apartments for a year. Although they can be quite pricey, we got some great concessions so we decided to give them a try. The amenities were great. We were the first residents to move into our unit, so the apartment was amazingly clean, furnished with new appliances. Most importantly, the staff was so nice (Holly especially!), including the maintenance staff, who were always very prompt and helpful. There were some unfortunate events while we stayed there involving mail and bike thefts, but I think the team did their best to prevent any more in the future by working directly with USPS and MVPD. I'm sure not all residents thought their actions were sufficient, but we thought so and were happy with the outcome. We were living on the other side of Caltrain so didn't really have problems with the train sounds (you can still hear them, so I would recommend doing a viewing when Caltrain is passing by). My ONLY complaint was noise from upstairs. Our upstairs neighbor seemed to love walking in boots around his/her apartment very loudly, and sound insulation seemed somewhat poor between our floor and the second floor. If this is going to be an issue for you, you should consider choosing the top floor. read more

I highly recommend 100 Moffett without hesitation. In addition to the great amenities, it has the best staffs, hands down! Today I had a lifetime trauma. At 8:19 AM this morning, I walked out to the trash room to get rid of my garbage. Against my will, however, I unwittingly threw away my key instead of the garbage. Fortuitously at the moment, I had my phone so I called the emergency line immediately. After leaving the message, Luis, the maintenance staff, gave me a call back within 3 minutes!!!! He showed up in the next five minutes and helped me unlock the door and when I explained my situation to him, without a second of hesitation, he headed to downstairs. He not only helped me find my key chain, but most MOST importantly he eagerly offered me the help even when the problem itself is not that pleasant to solve. After retrieving the key, I wanted to thank him with little money as a sign of gratitude, but he graciously did not take it. I was genuinely touched by his professional and compassionate etiquette. Amazing apartment complex, they thought of everything down to minute details. Fernando Monteon, one of the property managers, is by far the most responsive, thoughtful, helpful manager we have ever came across while living in various luxury apartment buildings over the past several years. He's alway got his tenants' back. Overall pluses for the property: - Amazing location, close to Caltrain and Castro street - Superb gym (even has a rower and a heavy bag) - Great co-working / party / pool / grill areas - Very well organized storage inside apartments - Plenty of parking around the building (in addition to internal garage) Minuses: - Nothing major so far, you might hear the trains passing / honking but you'll quickly get used to it quickly read more

Thomas reached out to me regarding the noise issue, and proposed different solutions to solve the problem. He also had multiple follow-ups with me to check in if the noise issue has improved, and even offered to have me to move to a top floor unit that is currently available. While the rent of a currently available top floor unit is beyond my budget, I appreciate that he offered this. He tried his best to help solve this problem and make sure that tenants here are having a great experience. I am also gradually more used to the noise from the unit above me. It seems there is a family living above me and I understand it's inevitable for kids to run around in the apartment. Except for this, I really enjoy living here and the management team do care about tenants' experience and try their best to help out and address the issue. read more

I've had 2 one week stays here in 2018 and won't be going back. The units are cute and nicely updated. The location is great; super short walk to DT MTV and other shops. (On the other hand, you can hear the train from all units, but at least it's expected and intermittent.) The two star rating is due to the constant ringing noise in top floor units. Apparently it's caused by electrical components on the roof and the sound travels down through the skylight into the entire apartment 24/7. I haven't stayed in lower floor units, so maybe they are okay, but I wanted to share this info as a heads up for anyone considering a top floor unit. read more

The front desk staff is amazing. When a package of mine was delivered to the wrong unit, Cassandra even went to find it despite it being even taller than she is! They always go the extra mile, and it is so appreciated. When I locked myself out of my unit on Easter (like an idiot), within 20 minutes, I was back in my apartment after calling the emergency line. Luis was amazing! Yeah, you can hear the train, but also...it's so nice to be so close to the train! Haha. We recently relocated from Boston to the Bay area for work. And our apartment hunting was an 8 hr day filled with 6 visits - we decided on 100 Moffett based on a few things: convenient location (right across the street from MV Caltrain station), newly furnished apartments (2 years in) great floor plans, amazing amenities and excellent team. We worked with Fernando through our initial moving process and everything was smoothly done within the next 12 hours. We had to switch units unexpectedly when we first started our lease and we were able to switch over smoothly using their Hall-pass and with the help of another team member Chris.(you are given the opportunity to opt out or switch out units within Prometheus). Its been a big adjustment and leaving Boston is still tough, but 100 Moffett and the team has made it more like home for us now. Highly recommend! read more

Just moved into 100 Moffett Apartments and this is by far the least stressful moves I have had! Everything is amazingly clean and the staffs at the office are some of the most friendly people I have seen working at an apartment complex. I was helped by Chris Calvetti and he has been more than helpful throughout the whole process starting from touring available apartments to constantly keeping me updated about any changes in pricing, to the actual move itself. The location of these apartments is also great, given its just a quick walk to caltrain and to Castro. Really happy about my move to this apartment complex. read more

100 Moffett rocks! We moved in recently and the level of service by Holly and team has been outstanding. They made the move-in experience seamless and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything lined up beforehand and had a smooth move-in day. We have been impressed with Prometheus properties in general but it was the super close proximity to Castro Street and the CalTrain station (including bullet service) that made the difference for us. The train isn't that annoying either - it hasn't kept us up and you get used to it. All thumbs up for the customer service, beautiful unit, storage unit, and more! read more

Checking out 100 Moffett was not my idea as I refused to consider the rental price range of a brand new development in a great location. However, after driving by, my boyfriend wanted to look into it anyway, which I got to admit now that it was AN AMAZING IDEA. We arrived late the morning of our appointment and met Kim Diaz, who is actually staffed at the Markham in Cupertino but covering 100 Moffett temporarily. Kim nailed the 1st star here. She was friendly and welcoming despite our late arrival and proceeded to get to know us - why we were in the market and area, what we were looking for, our likes, dislikes, etc. She carried on the conversation as she looked at and discussed our options at 100 Moffett. Kim is knowledgeable and professional even though this is NOT her primary office. Our tour began with the staging unit, which was very cute, creative and modern - clean white kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, high ceilings, full bathroom and so on. Kim proceeded to show us the gym, rooftop terrace, club house and mineral salt water pool and so on with the amenities. But it was the location that nailed the 2nd star. I'm 10-minute-walk from my office! Caltrain and VTA are across the street then it's downtown. Safeway is 5-minute drive. Target and Costco are 10-minute drive. Downtown Pal Alto (my boyfriend's office) and Stanford Shopping Center are roughly 25-minute drive if he doesn't go on the freeway. Kim was very patient and showed us multiple units to compare and understand our preferences. 2-bedroom unit is very spacious but is unnecessary for just the two of us. We looked at several 1-bedroom units in buildings A and C. In building C, we looked at one unit facing the inner yard and one unit facing the residential neighborhood. Unit facing the yard was smaller but pricier than some other units because we'd be looking at the nice yard. Unit facing the residential houses was cute because it had plenty of sunlight and something like a front porch with steps going to the street. In building A, we looked at one unit facing Central and had concerns about the noise level of the train station across the street. However, something about this unit was surprisingly calming - we didn't hate or dislike it. We left 100 Moffett for appointments at other rentals and had lunch but we couldn't get over 100 Moffett! We discussed our options and boomeranged back to the leasing office for a second tour of the unit facing the residential houses in building C. Btw, each unit comes with a storage unit - if not on the balcony or patio (depending on which floor) then it's in the parking garage. We were almost ready to apply but we had more rentals to visit, which we did and still couldn't get over what we saw here. Here came the 3rd star! We drove back to see Kim for another tour, test my walking commute to work and make sure we wanted that unit in building C. Kim should've been sick of seeing us by now but she was patient, understanding and professional. She showed us another unit in building A slightly bigger than the one in building C. Again, this is facing Central and the train station. It got less afternoon sunlight and we were still concerned about the train station across the street from us. We left the unit and a train came by so Kim rushed with us back into the unit - 4th star! We could hear the train but it was muffled. We applied for this unit and were approved the same night. We signed the lease the next day. I would give another half star if I could here. The promotional rates and flexible lease terms made it possible to come to our decision. This would also be a 5-star review had I not noticed the scratches on the movable island in the kitchen of our unit. I love cooking and spend lots of time in the kitchen. I'm obsessed with these scratches. It's been five days since I saw the scratches and I'm still thinking about them - totally an OCD thing. Prometheus is clearly attentive to details so its contractors should be, too. As someone who enjoys cooking, I also prefer gas over electric range but this is standard in all units at 100 Moffett. All that said, we are very happy with our decision to move here and hoping that the full-time staff is just as friendly, welcoming, professional, knowledgeable and AWESOME as Kim. I'll save the 5th star to update my review when we're actually moved and settled in. read more

I just recently moved in and I needed the maintenance to help adjust my air conditioning for me and I was greeted with Luis, he was very helpful and efficient! 100 Moffett are beautiful apartments with good amenities and conveniently located to restaurants, grocery stores, and coffee shops. The staff is friendly and the complex is well cared for and clean. However, if you require a full nights sleep do not move here. The train across the street sounds it's horn every hour or so until 2am and starts up again around 5am. The windows do little to keep out the noise of the trains and cars. The inside unites, that don't face the street may be fine. read more

Ive lived at 100 Moffett for about 6 months now.. originally wanted to live in C building because it was further from CalTrain but then we were introduced to a corner unit in building B and couldn't get enough! Yes, I loved the unit and the fact that we were so close to the gym but I was very concerned about the train since it was parallel to it. We were a little disappointed to know that they didn't put in commercial windows (to help with noise) for the units facing the train but that didn't prevent us from choosing 100 Moffett as home. Yes, you can hear the train but it's something you get used to. If you are sensitive to noise then I wouldn't recommend it but otherwise we've been nothing but happy! The whole leasing team is super friendly and they host parties/ get togethers pretty often with yummy food! Maintenance is just as friendly and are quick to respond to requests! The interiors are beautiful with hardwood floors, islands, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer and a NEST thermostat! It's not a large property but they have a rooftop deck, a courtyard, pool & hot tub, gym, dog spa and a clubhouse! Tons of amenities! If it fits your budget, I wouldn't look anywhere else! The convenience of downtown, grocery, Caltrain, park and everything else is just perfect! read more

It is beautiful inside and out- I was connecting to the CalTrain from the VTA Light Rail and couldn't help but take the short walk over for more information and be late to my appointment in SF. Charlotte showed me around- the Nest thermostat and keyless entry made me feel safe and secure while the tiled shower and gorgeous counter tops made me feel at home. The oversized windows have installed roller shades and the closets have elfa hardware installed- literally the space will speak for itself. Downtown Mountain View is just on the other side of the CalTrain and VTA Light Rail- the Library, Civic Center, CVS Pharmacy, Restaurants, Shops, Coffee Shops, Sushi, Craft Beer- it's definitely a stellar way of living in a high pressure world! They currently have specials and should my work keep me in the area this is will be my future home. Thank you Charlotte- you represent the space in the most perfect way! read more
