The Biltmore Apartments - Apartments Near Me - Cupertino, California

The Biltmore Apartments have older units and also newer units. This review is about the newer side. For the most part, I believe this apartment complex sells itself. The location is nested in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Cupertino. The building is really nice, from it's design to the pop of color from the different shades of paint to open floor plan layouts to the in-house amenities. We were blindsided by these luxuries and we didn't realize that there were some big issues to actually worry about. The ceilings We lived on the 1st floor. We are now scarred and will never, ever live on the 1st floor anywhere ever again. Our upstairs neighbor, though they probably didn't mean to, made my life a living hell. I never got the chance to meet them, but I think it's really disturbing that I can hear them so clearly that I know their schedule and I even went to sleep/woke up the same time as them. Sometimes we even ate dinner outside together and that's when I can really hear them because of the hardwood floors. I heard them so clearly that I just felt like they were constantly stomping directly on my head. They gave me huge migraines and I had to wear ear plugs constantly to help. Babies and kids There are a lot of kids on the loose, playing around the common areas. We had bushes in front of our apartment and we were very uncomfortable when we saw some kids crawl in between the bushes and our window. I really liked the landscapes that we had in front of our windows, but the kids were always destroying it by breaking off the leaves/branches. Opening the windows was just impossible because we would always hear kids playing and babies screaming and crying. It was extremely disruptive throughout the day, but especially while we were working from home. Management I understand that the office is closed due to COVID-19 but management has just been very irresponsive. We tried to contact them for many different reasons, but we're especially unhappy about the maintenance request we put in that got ignored. For the price we paid, it's not fair for us to deal with a loud and leaking toilet that we ended fixing on our own. In the lease agreement, there are rules that we have to follow, but people just end up doing what they want and management did nothing about it. As if it is kid's game to move with family of four.but never stopped or paused their renovation in that upstair apartment. It had been not even a week after that, the renovation upstairs caused heavy leakage from that bathroom, seeping and leaking all the dirty toilet water into our main bedroom cabinet.. all over our clothing and stuff.. made me remove everything immediately only in a few days of my arranging as we had just freshly moved in . Immediately after the leakage the ceiling in bathroom had become so damp that it started to develop again and again heavy mold in the master room bathroom. Mold problems started causing range of other health issues like sinus and nose bleed. Heaters never worked. The maintenance guy would fake that he fixed those crappy old heaters. I remember in the extreme bad cold of January, all of us literally shivering like dying all through the night. As in one video you can hear my kid sick coughing badly .. there was no peace to let anyone rest as it was all extremely disturbing, heart pounding, deafening loud noise caused by heavy machinery work going on upstairs, while me and my two kids.. all of us were suffering with severe Covid. That's not all of my story. And I can't even explain all my agony typing here. Where is the sense of decision making managers there? who never cared of their clients choose to be so money minded .. all the money used to decorate only the outside area and maintenance office to look all impressive to lure people. What can people at maintenance office do?Nothing.. but try to talk politely as they don't want to lose their job. They are just the puppet employees. After we recovered we decided to move out as quickly as possible even if we had to break our one year lease. Avoid this place! They will break the agreement even after you paid the holding deposit just because "current tenants want to keep it". Here is what happened to us: Our applications were approved, we paid the holding deposit, and signed our lease. It's ironic that they even sent us a "welcome home" email at that time. Two weeks after, we received a call for the office and were told the apartment is no longer available because "current tenants changed their minds and wanted to keep it", and they "must honor" that; after they already kept our "holding deposit" for 2 weeks. If a "holding deposit" is not actually holding the apartment, what's the point of even having it? This is the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard during all my past leasing experiences. If the current tenants never signed a move-out notice, why, and how could they even post it online as "available"? If the current tenants changed their minds after they signed the move-out notice, then there is no point the management "must honor" that over the agreement we had when we paid the holding deposit. It might be true that the current tenants changed their minds, but this is more like an excuse when the management just wanted to break our agreement Maybe the renewal rent is much higher than what we got and they just got greedy. Either the management put the apartment online by mistake, which means the team here lacks basic skills to run the community here, and whatever information they put online could be false. Or, the management has no honor and no contract spirit; and is simply chasing the profit and has no business moral. Any of the above would be an alert to any renter to stay away from this business. If you are so decided and just can't resist what they offered, then good luck and be prepared as they could just tell you the one you paid to hold is no longer available, when you are just few days away from you move. Seriously, there are so many other properties, newer, with enclosed garage, offering special offers for 2 weeks free, ..., and most importantly, ran by professional teams with moral and respect. Why do you even want to stick with this one? I do hope you will not end up with sitting in front of the screen, trying to warn others with such a comment, and regretting not listening to the comments others wrote before, in the night of 4th of July. Oh, by the way, they "kindly" sent us a quote for another apartment after breaking the agreement. They selected the move-in date as 07/18, and the rent is $3,282. We got curious and checked exactly the same unit on their own website, on the same day they sent us the quote, and the rent is $3,123 for 07/17 move-in. What else can I say... OK, The Biltmore Apartment, you win. read more

Overall, we're really happy with Biltmore, and especially Wendy who has always been helpful with whatever we have needed. We lived for a year in one of the top floor newer apartments, and can really recommend those in particular. The view of the sunset from the balcony is just amazing to have every day! Service team was also very quick to fix any issues. The only downside is once you pay the "deposit" (you know, the thing you usually get back if you don't break anything, normal wear and tear accepted), you won't ever see it again. For some reason, Prometheus Apartments have their own definition of deposit, and they'll use it to clean and repaint the apartment, and then charge your deposit + extra as they see fit. Add the deposit to your total rent split over the months you'll stay there to get the true rent. read more

We have been living at Biltmore for more than a year now and I must say that we have been thoroughly impressed from day 1. Whenever we report any minor issue, it gets resolved in a couple of hours and we always get amazed by the responsiveness of the management team. I would like to especially highlight Wendy in the leasing office as she is a real pleasure to work with and is incredibly helpful. Chris, Johnathan and rest of the team is also very cooperative. To Whom It May Be of Concern to: I operate a flower shop in San Francisco. Earlier this month (July 6th), our firm was engaged by a client to deliver a plant gift to a resident at The Biltmore property in Cupertino. Although our client was asked to provide a unit number for the recipient at 10095 S. Blaney, she did not provide it at the time of sale. I presented myself to the receptionist in your offices. She referred me to your Neighborhood Director, Auren Ednalino. Ms. Ednalino seemed less than enthusiastic about helping me resolve the "no-unit" dilemma. I provided her the name of the recipient and the address (without unit number). I indicated that I would be happy to either take them to the unit or leave them in the office. I was given a clear sense that my request was considered out of order and invasive. I was told it was a breach of security. I attempted to make it clear that I did not NEED to know the unit number and would gladly leave them with your office. I was told I needed to provide a unit number in order for the office to accept the plant. Ms. Ednalino, apparently, called the recipient and left a message. She did not inform me of that set of acts. I simply was left to wait in the lobby (at that point about 10-15 minutes). She did this AFTER attending to two separate visits from other parties who walked into the reception area AFTER I had already been waiting. I left the office, called my customer and, after and additional 10 minutes, was successful in reaching her and obtaining the (previously omitted) unit number that our customer had all along. Upon your receptionist accepting the plant, I inquired of the name of your Neighborhood Director. Apparently, Ms. Ednalino was, at that point, more attentive and was almost bursting with genuine arrogance as she rushed out into the lobby and gave me her card... as if to dare me to write. I have written. I have hardly ever experienced such unprofessional conduct by a management person. read more

Greenery Cons The classic apartments are old which are being renovated . As they are old you have issues like 1. Appliance issues and maintenance issues. 2. Silver fish , ants , cockroaches and insects . 3. Maintenance SLA is long and team is under staffed , so you would need to wait even for urgent work to be completed . 4. Only emergency requests attended on weekends . 5.Play area and structure needs renovation. 6Thefts and package misplace issue. 7. If you have happen to live below an apartment which is renovated , you would be hearing walking sound always as they have wooden flooring . 8. So seeing all this, rent is still on the higher side at least for existing residents . 9. Utility bills are high as there is no separate water meters for each unit. read more

The Biltmore Apartments is an amazing place to live! We've been staying in this complex for almost 5 months, in a 1 bedroom - 1 bathroom unit, at the second floor and it has been great. The apartment is nice, spacious and cozy and come with washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove, and A/C. There are also a lot of other amazing amenities, like the relaxing and well kept landscape with flowers and tall trees, the renovated clubhouse, swimming pool, outdoor kitchen with fireplace and bbq grills. The general vibe you feel is that you are in a safe place, and also quiet (there has been some issue with kids being too loud in the playground area and around the units, but the management addressed it and resolve it). The location is also pretty great since it's close to restaurants and shops. Another good thing is the Online Neighborhood Portal, a useful way to express concerns, requests and communications to the staff and neighbors. Lastly, another thing that make us love this place is the staff! The management staff is always (always!!!) nice, friendly and helpful (bit shout-out to Auren, Wendy and especially Loretta, with whom we interact the most!) and the same stands for the maintenance staff that in addition of being polite and friendly is extremely effective. Just an example: one day our washer broke and without even asking, the staff immediately gave us the option to do our laundry in a unit next to ours! Again, amazing place to live. read more

My family and I lived in Biltmore, Cupertino for 8 years. We loved the apartment unit for its ventilation, brightness. The service team was quite responsive with timely action. The apartment is well maintained and has amenities in good condition. I reduced one star on need for improvement especially ac or cooler and heater. Despite this, it's a nice place to live. We really enjoyed living here overall. The grounds are beautiful, the gym small but with newer equipment, the pool and bbq area gorgeous, and the locations is so great--easy to walk to parks and stores. The apartment itself was older (not super updated, like some of the other ones in this complex), but we loved the layout. I can't say enough about the Manager Wendy and maintenance person Louis. They both work so hard and seem to really care about their work. Wendy, even when you can tell she is swamped and busy, will stop to make you and your family feel welcome. She is wonderful with kids and goes the extra mile to make living there feel like home. I would say similar things about Louis. You can tell when they're super, super busy, but he was still always really nice and made sure whatever work you needed was completed and done well. We will miss seeing both of them! We did notice, especially lately, that more and more kids were running around unsupervised. It's a nice community for families, but I don't understand why people think it's okay to let their kids run around unsupervised if they aren't acting nicely. They shouldn't be bullying or riding into other kids or slamming huge sticks around toddlers. But we saw all that. It's not all of the kids, of course. Anyway, as long as you are with your little ones, you can watch out for the more rowdy bigger kids. But I wish the parents would just be with them more. This isn't actually a private backyard, no matter how fun it is; it's a community of many families. read more

I live here for 3 years now and I really have nothing bad to say about it. It's a beautiful apartment with great gym, outdoor pool that's always warm, outdoor lounge and fireplace. the location is awesome. Target, Whole food, and Sprouts are all in walking distance. Cupertino library is just behind us, Cupertino High School is just a few blocks away, and the gas station across the street is the cheapest in the area for some reason. Wilson Park is just 5 minutes walking and it's right next to the Stevens Creek but also very quiet at night. Wendy who works in the leasing office is surprisingly friendly and super easy to talk to, she will help you with all your problems. read more

Hi Jessica- thanks for your response. I drove into the complex the other night at 11 pm- there was not a single parking spot in the complex or outside the perimeter of the complex! The office told me today that when that happens I can park a half block down the street at the city center. Basically, you'd better park your car before 8 or 9 pm or else all the spots will be taken and you will be parking a half mile away. That is incredibly inconvenient, especially in heels or with groceries... or on weekends when you want to come home late... not cool... (response from 2013, realized I didn't hit "post"- hopefully things have improved since then) read more

I have been enjoying at Biltmore for almost a year now.My wife was keen on living in one of those old styled apartments that does not open your home door to your opposite neighbor like a hotel setup. Finding old apartments means older facilities, I was keen on newer facilities, Biltmore was fit having best of both worlds This is one of very few apartments that has mix of both old style Apartments and the new ones with a brand new gym, swimming pool n barbecue . The Biltmore has It is kept spic n span by the management , there are a beautiful fountains and small artificial stream . The landscaping inside it beautiful n relaxing with big trees n flowers. Leasing Staff: Chris, Wendy and their maintenance staff are amazing people who are cheerful when u approach them with a problem , they sort it out quickly. For any utility issues, the maintenance staff never had us waiting. Once we had water leak, wendy and the maintenance staff Rick, Mike and Louis , rushed to the scene n got it fixed in no time. Location: This apartment is located with .5 mil radius to library , two parks,playground and busy steven's creek multi cuisine restaurants and groceries in a nice green neighborhood. read more

Impressed with the transparency and responsiveness from Day 1. It made the entire move-in and paperwork seamless. Seven months in the apartment we love calling home. Some big plus's - prompt handling of service requests and so hassle free - friendly and approachable staff from front office/admin/maintenance - beautiful community, great fitness center, decent size pool and an aesthetic community center which can be reserved ( and it's absolutely free). We hosted a party and the guests loved it - vibrant area with walking distance from grocery stores, multi cuisine joints, Stevens Creek, parks and library Great job Chris, Wendy and team. My husband and I called the leasing office and were told to stop by that day. We arrived at the leasing office for our appointment and were completely blown off by the man (grey hair, short, glasses) at the front desk. He was unhelpful and told us to make another appointment. I am still in disbelief at the low quality service at this place. You would think that the staff in the leasing office would have been more welcoming or at least apologetic about the inconvenience. I have been living here for 1,5 month in the corporate housing and it has been great. The apartment was clean, new, and in great condition. There's a nice pool area and outside grills for bbq's with friends. Other residents hang out in these areas and it's great if you like some life around you. Other reviews write that it's been noisy, but it's nothing more than families with kids playing around the pool - it' fine, and they go to bed.. The staff has been helpful with everything; gave us detailed information and advice about possibly living here permanently, even helped me print and scan documents with short notice, and been very helpful with package deliveries. I've often gone there for a chat and a coffee (they have a great little coffee machine). Other reviews have had complaints about the receptionist, which seems unfair, all we've experienced and seen is them being super friendly and helpful with everyone. Thanks for making our first time in the US smooth. Our plan for moving here has been to move up to SF, but our stay at the Biltmore actually made us consider staying here in Cupertino. read more

We have been living here for 3 years and we are not very handy, so sometimes even we have very tiny issues in kitchen or bathroom, we have to ask for help. The team is professional and kind, especially Miguel. he is so skillful that can fix issues with feasible and quick solution. And most importantly Miguel is extremely nice, we had a hardware issue that he doesn't have to help, but as we asked, he still managed to fix it for us, which save us a lot of time to find resources to do it ourselves. The leasing office staff are always extremely helpful whether it is helping with mail issues or maintenance problems with my apartment (which are rare). Wendy, Johnathan and Christopher are my go to people for resolving issues which they do really quickly, they really go above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable living here. The new facilities were a little slow to build but now that they are completed they are nicely done. The buildings are close by to a few restaurants which is very convenient if I am too lazy to cook and the buildings are well maintained. The only negatives I would note are the high rent but that would not be the fault of the leasing office, just the housing climate in Cupertino is to blame. Rent is lowest Sep-Dec, so try and sign a lease during one of those times. You'll reap the advantage throughout your time here. I've stayed at the Biltmore for 2 years in my 1BD/1BA. My experience : - great rent for the area & amenities : when I moved in fall 2013, my rent was $300 less than average, and I kept that advantage for the whole of the 2 years ! - 5 min from work : I work at Apple, and I loved being a 5 min drive from work (or a 20 min walk/10 min bike ride). Sure beats the SF to Cupertino 2 hour shuttle bus commute ! - very respectful neighbors & quiet neighborhood - I had no noise complaints in my 2 years here, and most of my neighbors were young professionals or families with one or two young kids. All very respectful of the common areas, no trash or hanging laundry or anything like that, everybody stuck to their assigned parking spaces so parking was never a problem. -maintenance - the few times I've had a problem, a quick call to the office was all that was needed. They sent someone without 24 hours to fix the problem. For emergencies, they also have a 24x7 emergency maintenance number. - security - EXTREMELY secure neighborhood. Never had a break in or heard about a break in. Felt extremely secure living here, and walking from the car park to the apartment after late nights at work. Neighborhood is patrolled at night by Silicon Valley Security & they have a security hotline to call and report incidents - my apartment - gas fireplace, gas stove, washer/dryer included, central AC, tiled kitchen countertop, surrounded by pine trees. These apartments are in a nice neighborhood, close to freeway access and several shopping centers. Trees line the streets, a pond with fountains and domesticated ducks runs through the grounds. There is a pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, weight room and a common room for parties. A nice place for families, couples, and professionals not really a singles sort of scene which is nice for the noise levels. The leasing office has polite folk working there and the maintenance guys are efficient and quick if there are not too many other requests pending. I used to enjoy living here ;) read more

The amenities are great and very neat, the downside is that if you move to the newer apartments its noisy as hell due to the construction ..even on Saturday mornings! extremely annoying. Another thing i noticed is that the noise from upper level is pretty transparent like hearing their door slam transparent, not sure it was my awful upper level tenant or the apartments themselves. read more

I like the place and interior. I like prometheus. But if you like quiet place, I don't recommend this apartment. It's too noisy, there is a big playground at the center of the community, kids are playing until even till 20:00 and screaming continuously. I don't think I can endure of such harsh voice anymore, they are even bouncing basketball in the narrow path between the house. We emailed the issue to leasing office but the situation are the same. read more

Very courteous accommodating staff. Nice community feel for a family. Pricey but nice features - in-house full size washer and dryer, nice floor plan, tons of cabinet space in the kitchen, ... We nearly moved in there this week. We put a deposit down. With out us asking for it they offered a 72 hour period when we could change our mind. We found a great house for a comparable rent in the neighborhood. So we took advantage of that 72 hour period. They were very cool about it and worked with us to quickly return our deposit. If we decide to move into an apartment again, we would definitely go back there. read more

Stay away from this place. I went to this place yesterday to see the apartments. I reached there at 4:30pm. The sign outside the leasing office said that they were going to return at 4pm, but it was already 4:30. I patiently waited for 15 mins but no one showed up. Then I called a phone number they had in the outside and they told me that the office folks were out for a tour and should be back soon and they made an appointment for 5pm for me. I waited in my car. Around 5:15pm this one lady showed up. I walked inside but the Lady inside kept taking to other people even though I had an appointment for 5pm. When I tried to talk to her and tell her that I was waiting since 4:30, she wouldn't believe me and refused service. I walked out at 5:30pm distraught at the incompetence and lack of customer service. AVOID THIS PLACE!! read more
