This station was the soundtrack to my latest week in Central Arizona. It was practically Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Dio, and AC/DC every other song. They were talking about local metal bands, Flogging Molly's upcoming St. Patrick's Day show in Tempe, Van Halen's latest album, craft brewing festivals, and so many more things actually relevant to harder music than the hipster scene. Now, granted they were also playing Creed and any other band that probably wouldn't have fit on the other stations. On Sunday night, though it was excusable. Are you listening, KROQ? Take some notes and get back to your roots. You've lost your way.

I started listening to the station a couple days after 9/11 when I realized CNN, NBC and the rest of the alphabet media was just recycling the SAME OLD news footage of the towers crumbling over and over ad nauseum minus any real information. I wanted to know more about these enemies of my beloved country! (that I didn't even know I had, thanks to the sissified mainstream media) What kind of people would commit this kind of atrocity? Why did the Towers pancake so badly? The who, what, where, how, and why of real journalism was supplied by the various hosts and guests on KFYI. Ten years later, I am still a loyal listener. Yes, the commercials are annoying, and sometimes ludicrous - But aren't they all? KFYI will give you information and knowledge, not edited, censored, and politically correct pablum like the mainstream news stations deliver - If you are woman or man enough to take it.....I suggest listening to the station daily for just a couple weeks to see if you like it.

I'm never a fan of yelling at the radio but I spent a bit of time trying hard to listen through the filter and not disagree. That didn't go so well. Is it too much to ask for unbiased news? I finally became a member of this station after moving back to Arizona from San Francisco. The station fills the airwaves at my house nearly constantly. I like the blend of NPR content, BBC content, and jazz. Every time I travel, I find the local NPR station, and I'm able to get into the local flavor of most any city in America. KJZZ is a good NPR station - I only wish there was more content created locally (e.g. versus KQED in SF) given the vibrant arts scenes and thriving college life in Phoenix and the area. I'll continue to use NPR to help inform my opinions of local, national, and international topics, probably for the rest of my life. I am happy that I finally joined as a member. I recommend this radio station!

Thank you 101.5! It is located right off Roosevelt between Central and 1st Ave and easy to find in Downtown Phoenix. The parking lot is surprisingly large with room for probably about 20 cars there is a lot of space. Very convenient location.
