I love the Mom and Pop feel of 168 Asian Market. They carry a huge variety of goods at reasonable prices. We get our day-to-day ingredients and veggies at 168 and even bought our Zojirushi rice cooker at a few extra bucks more to support a local place vs online. My favorites, though, are the Asian snacks and drinks - it's so fun seeing all the choices!!

This place is fantastic of you're looking for Asian goods and foods. The store is a bit everywhere but you can find so many different products here. Anywhere from anime teas to chip flavors you'll have a hard time finding elsewhere. The people who run the store are really happy every time I come in and it's just generally neat place.

This Asian market had the lemon tea I was looking for. I also saw a new KitKat flavor and some matcha chewy candy. Checking out was easy and cashier was friendly. There was lots of items, including frozen items and kitchenware.

I love this market. I cook mostly Thai cuisine and they had everything that I needed here. I do make my own.pho balls but occasionally I buy them and they had a great assortment at a pretty good price. I really liked the guy that checked me out and for me everything was so quiet so it was perfect ambience. Although it's very very close to the casino, it wasn't busy at all when I did go in and the service was excellent.

I had a hard time writing this review because I am from the Bay Area and there are so many Asian supermarkets out there. And only 2, that I know of, in Reno. My friend just told me that there are 4 more Asian supermarkets in Sparks; I will visit them soon. Quality/Quantity - Okay, we had a craving and did an emergency run for some dry noodles. Atmosphere - Plenty of parking. This place never seems to have many customers. The place seems clean and organized. Service - Okay, seems nice, the cashier did not really talk. Price - Expensive compared to the Bay Area, but when it is your only option... 4% Credit Card Surcharge I am NOT a fan of all these additional fees when we travel - Surcharges, Living wage, SF Mandate, SF Ordinance, resort fees, parking fee, mandatory hotel tip on invoice, etc. Especially since all businesses charge differently, have different names and percentages, etc. In summary, if two businesses are the same cost but one with the "additional fees" versus one with just higher prices, I would prefer to frequent the higher price businesses. I prefer that you just raise the price, which most of us are willing to pay versus feeling "nickled and dimed". Many of us do NOT like to see an extra tax/fee on our bill. Is this a price sensitivity issue or marketing issue? In your case, maybe offer a cash discount vs a credit card surcharge? Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 2000.

Was in town to check out a couple of specific ingredients when cooking traditional food, I found them here at this location. There are a variety of imported goods here and a decent small section of produce and seafood, dry goods and meats. It's a mom and pop store which I truly support. The attendant at the register was polite and boxed my items . I would come back again when in town.

This is the only Asian market I go to now. I found the prices to be better and the selection much easier to choose from. My friend had tried dried squid (jerky) while he was in Texas and told me I needed to try it. He suggested we could get it at an Asian market. So we went to this one. Not only did I find it in original flavor, but also spicy! And I LOVED it! While I was there, I got some wasabi peas and mochi! Both were delicious! Then I found a whole new snack that I am completely addicted too! Sweet potato candy aka dried sweet potato! You can get them thin or thick sliced, by the bagful! The 168 Asian Market has many new things for you to try and some of the traditional foods you know.

Ask the Community - 168 Asian Market

    Do you carry electric woks?

From my experience they have a decent variety of kitchen tools and appliances. I recall that they did carry some woks, but I didn't check to see if they were electric.

Do they carry sticky rice steamer and serving baskets? Ours are in need of replacement

    Yes

We had to feed a crowd at home recently and Middle Eastern cuisine suited everyone's fancy, so naturally Aladdin's was the call. Using the online ordering system was simple, and the food was ready right on time. My only feedback is that the items don't all clearly describe what you get or how the dish comes, and so I added sauces thinking they came on the side but really came on top, and paid upcharges for things like pita, thinking they didn't come with it but then finding out they did and I just added a lot of extra. I ordered a few shawarma plates, an Aladdin combo, and hummus, falafel, and babaganoush appetizers. Everything was delicious, but some items were a bit surprising. The hummus is was a bit on the loose side, and we actually thought it was tahini from the look, aroma, and flavor. My guess is the batch was made with a bit more tahini than normal. Still good, but surprising. The Aladdin's Combo didn't look as pictured on the website, where it looks like a very sizable portion of meat, with chicken in a reddish marinade. Though the chicken looked similar to shawarma, it was clearly different in flavor, and both it and the koobideh were delicious. I ordered extra meat and had expected it to be outrageously large based on the menu photo of the standard order, but what came was more similar to the photo itself. It was still plenty to share, but I paid additional and didn't seem like I got that much more. The regular portions here are large, like easily feed two people sized. We ordered one plate per person, but in reality could've split them all. Again, I love this spot and chalk this up to learning. I think some folks could get frustrated with this experience, and I def did to an extent, but I enjoy this too much to gripe.

The ground beef kebab was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The rice moist and saffron yellow. The owner came out and put his hand on my shoulder when I complimented his fine establishment.
