I stopped in purely by coincidence (I was taking a detour around traffic) and was very happy by what I found. The dispensary is a large & open layout, very clean, and well laid out in my opinion. They have several walls with screens listing all their products; each wall is it's own type of high. There are few to no products on display, which didn't bother me. Having not seen such a layout before, I really liked it. When I was first starting out with cannabis, I never knew what I wanted. It took lots of discussions with the employees and then further trial and error to find the strains that worked best for me. The display method at 1861 would have helped me a lot back then. Additionally, I was there to find a CBD option for my mom's back pain. I wish she'd been with me; as an older woman who isn't confident about using cannabis, she would have found this dispensary pleasant, with a modern and approachble feel. As a bonus for me, they had a whole category just for Creative. I'd not seen that before and it was everything I've ever wanted, lol. Now I may just have gotten lucky, but the strain I picked from creatives ended up being one of my favorite highs I've had. And, turns out, it's not that easy to find. My local/preferred cannabis shop doesn't have it, so I give credit to 1861 for great product selection, there. I was greeted as I came in. The one person on the floor was busy with another customer, but within a minute someone else had come out of the back to help me. She was a wonderful lady who helped me find a product for back pain, as well as helped me find the Creative high (Peaches 'n Cream disposable vape, 10/10), talking me into it when I wasn't sure what I should try. I'm glad she did. The woman who checked me out was also very nice. The checkout was slow, but I was a new customer so she was making a profile for me. We were chit-chatting anyway, so I didn't mind. A third employee ended up chatting with us (there were no other customers at that time) and I enjoyed our conversation. I was in no hurry, so it was great for me. Five stars for service, recommendations, knowledge, and friendliness. I parked on the street at a meter and didn't have any parking problems. I can't speak to the other reviews about that. The only reason I dropped a star is that I also purchased Apple Berry Creative gummies and while the high was fine (7/10) the gummies themselves were awful. Whatever sugar coating they used, the gummies were packaged too tightly so it all disolved. The packaging was covered in a syrupy mess and the gummies were all stuck together. They should change the sugar they use if they keep making those. (I only sampled the one, so I do not know if it's a problem with all gummies). They also did not taste very good, though I care less about that. Overall, I would definitley recommend this dispensary. It is especially good for those newer to the industry or for an older generation uncertain about cannabis and dispensaries. read more

This is the only place I will go. it's clean, the employees are knowledgeable and the products are well made and reasonably priced. To address some of the more negative reviews for this place. 1861 has a relatively small parking lot that it shares with one other business (Shogun Sushi) already. there are about twenty signs (one on each parking space basically) that mention that the parking lot is supposed to be used by patrons of those two businesses exclusively. The people leaving negative reviews are being towed because they are illegally parking there and going to other restaurants in the area because parking is hard to find. 1861 is upholding their policies and protecting what little space they have. I went in looking for thc rosin and the shit they had was trash, I'm 99% sure it wasn't rosin based on the color and texture of it. So I decided to cop some resin due to it looking better. The tow driver refused to tell us where our car was being taken and nearly hit us with his truck - intentionally. We filed a police report. The tow service told us this manager is calling DAILY. Hundreds of cars at $250 CASH ONLY seems like they're running a scam. Surrounding businesses have complained about her. I wonder if the owner of the building, who is a staple in the community for decades, is aware of this?!? She and towing company refuse to even speak to customers. This is where I have buying my marijuana since it was legalized for recreational use and it's awesome! 1861 is what I would consider an upscale pot shop, reminds me of a boutique wine store. The staff are amazing -- they are super friendly and very helpful if you have any questions. The product is top-notch -- I have tried two other dispensaries in Nob/Silver Hill area and the weed I got at those places was more expensive and dry. TOWED WHILE RUNNING ACROSS THE STREET FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE GOING TO 1861 MARKET. MANAGER AVOIDS DISCUSSING ISSUE OR OFFERING CUSTOMER SERVICE. My husband and I had come here a handful of times. On my way home tonight, I parked to go get takeout from M'tucci's then was going to get him a pre-roll. I was in M'tucci's for 5 minutes waiting for our takeout, then was walking across the street to go to the Market when I saw I was being towed. I was in the restaurant for 5 minutes and was already getting towed?! The tow driver was very rude and unprofessional. I asked to pay and just get my car on site, but he wouldn't let me and the towing company wouldn't either when I called. I was upset and he was mean and unhelpful. My husband came to pick me up and tried to speak to the manager at 1861 Market. She would not address him and hid in the back. There were 6 or 7 open parking spaces in the lot, but apparently for 1861 Market, making a buck off their customers is more important. The tow driver said he lived in the heights, but he must have been called / just on standby for the night. It's pretty gross they are not actually worried about having parking for their stores, just about making money off client base. This manager was just watching for anyone parking for a minute and trying to get people. She didn't realize she is loosing a repeat customer and any other people I know. We all know us smokers are loyal. If she would have talked to my husband or tried to make it right, maybe we would have reconsidered this review.
