Serrano is a 20+ floor condo that is 100% rental. The building is about 3 years old. The building…read moreand the suites are comfortable and very nice. The building staff is excellent and the building is very well maintained. There are 3 elevators, with one moving elevator connected to the back moving room for convenient access. The suites are pretty pricey (~$1300 for 1 bedroom) but they come fully equipped with all appliances, including a built-in dishwasher, stove, fridge and stacked washer/dryer. There is a central air conditioning heating system. Utilities are not included. The building has 3 levels of parking and is also conveniently located a short 10 min walk from either Kipling or Islington subway stations along Dundas and Bloor. There's easy access to transit on both Bloor and Dundas and Hwy 427 is only 3 km away. Living here is great and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a upscale rental on the west side of the city.

Ive had issues from having to get my access key replaced 3X the same day I moved in, rude and unhospitable customer service, incomplete renovations to my unit, move in day I found so many scratches on the floor, tools left in the kitchen and no welcome package. They have hidden fees for everything. This is a pricey place to live in!!! Im moving out asap because I dont trust this company.

I'd move if I could afford it. The apartments all grow mold. I clean it up every 6 months. They use hydro to heat them which is really expensive in the winter. Buy a heater or 4. No air conditioning in the summer either. Hope you like the sound of jackhammers and machinery. They have been doing parking renovations for a year now and people just park wherever they want. Good luck if someone steals your spot. There is zero enforcement on parking thieves. I have court dates set now to fight parking tickets, why am I paying for parking again? Take the stairs because the elevator breaks regularly too. I've asked for repairs and filled in work orders but nobody ever shows up to fix anything. The only real plus to this place is the laundry in every apartment. Cap Reit, the hellhole of brampton.

I've been living in this building for more than half a year now, so I've experienced both summer…read moreand winter conditions. The units are large. I have a "small" one bedroom and it's over 850 sq ft. There are other one bedrooms that are around 1200 or even more sq ft...along with 2 and 3 bedrooms as well. The area is very convenient. The Dixie Mall and No Frills are just a short walk away where you can catch Mississauga transit. The QEW/Gardiner/427 are very close, and you have the option of taking the Dixie or Long Branch GO trains or buses. You can also catch TTC at Long branch station which is about a 20 minute walk, or just a few short minutes by car. The building offers amazing amenities, and there are activities for everyone. The salt water pool is beautiful in the warm summer months. After going for a swim I honestly feel like I'm on vacation while I'm laying down and catching some sun. There's a tennis and badminton court, and three shuffle board courts. There are many tables with umbrellas and chairs around the property, along with two large BBQs and a gazebo. The 6 acres are beautifully landscaped and are always great to photograph for the enthusiast. Inside the building, there's a full sized snooker/billiard table, darts, ping pong, puzzle room, massive workshop (band saw, table saw, sanders, lathe, drill press, and much more), community areas, and so much more. There are personal lockers for detergents in the laundry rooms (each building has its own), along with sitting areas with a TV and magazines, and it's just 50 cents per wash, and 25 cents per half hour for drying. There's a manual car wash which is operational during three of the four seasons for only $1 per 3 minutes. Water, heat, hydro and cable television are all included in the condo fees. There's 24 hour security at the gate house, and a concierge in the main lobby during business hours. The McMaster house can be rented out for private functions for a very reasonable price, and includes a full kitchen with all the dishes and cutlery you'll need. There are various paid things that you can do too, including the hair salon, yoga, and events with live music. There are often social events like wine and cheese which come at no extra cost. I can go on, but there's just far too much to say. The only down side to this building is that there are no dogs allowed, so if I ever want to get a dog I'll have to move :(.

Moved into 1055 Bloor in May, 2014. Management bent over backwards to convince us to move in, but…read moreonce we moved in, it appeared as though their priorities shifted to luring other suckers into moving in. Several advertisements for 1055 Bloor highlight the beautiful indoor pool, which was our main reason for moving in. We had full use of the pool for two days, after which the heat was turned off without notice. Then it was closed for "major repairs" according to Almira, the building manager. The pool was, however, permanently closed without noticed in favour of a "gym" which required little to no maintenance. No reduction in rent was offered when this amenity was taken away. Management reasoned this was fair, because they were opening the new gym, which was also advertised to attract renters. The "secure" garage we pay to park in is anything but secure. When we moved in, the door knob was on the floor for several days. Then, when it became obvious that the antiquated locking mechanism was too difficult to open for too many people, someone jammed the lock open permanently. This was not remedied until the building switched to an electronic FOB system months later. How our vehicle was never broken into, damaged or stolen is beyond me. The fire department is located nearby, which is convenient, because it's not uncommon for the fire alarm to go off several times over the course of a day, or late at night. These are often false alarms. At least one of which went on for 30 minutes, because the fire department was not notified, and residents were treated to the loud disruption well after 11pm while the inept superintendent attempted to disable the alarm himself to prevent the fire department from charging the company for the fourth false alarm of the day. Repairs are done on a when-we-feel-like-it basis. It took THREE MONTHS to fix a hole in the ceiling above our bathtub, and the ceiling wasn't replaced, it was only given a poor patch job. Apartments are poorly ventilated. If you're unfortunate enough to have a neighbour who smokes, you can look forward to inhaling plenty of second-hand smoke. The peace and quiet is also often destroyed by neighbours fighting over trivial domestic issues, like who's turn it is to do household chores. Laundry facility was 24 hours when we moved in, but vandalism caused it to be limited to 7am - 11pm.
