There did not seem to be any oversight by Rich Home Exteriors to keep track of the work and quality of work being done. Many of the windows that were being wrapped were improperly done and had to be redone, as well as an exterior door and some trim along the garage. We had asked them to remove some existing solid wood soffits along the garage eaves and install ventilation. Initially they simply covered over the existing wood, which did not allow for ventilation. It took a few attempts to get it properly ventilated. The threshold on our new front door was very unstable and flexed every time it was stepped on. We had to mention these issues a number of times before they were remedied. We had a number of other minor issues as well. We chose Rich Home Exteriors because of the positive reviews we had read online. However, our experience was very different from what we had read. We decided to put up an honest review of what our experience was like. It was a very stressful situation for us. We had to continually monitor the work that was being done ourselves.

However, he was not licensed and insured so I wouldn't use him. Called Rich's, who is licensed and insured, and they came by to look at it. There assessment was that the door was fine (and it was), and the rotted wood was just a kick plate. All flashing and seal around the door was fine. Just a couple of dollars to replace the kick plate and all is fine. Plan on using them for some additional repairs. I would highly recommend them.

I requested a call back to let me know he was doing it and when I could expect it. NO COMMUNICATION! I CALLED EACH WEEK TO SEE THE STATUS OF THE ESTIMATE AND NEVER HEARD A WORD BACK!!!!! AWFUL!!!! today I was told that I was not their only customer and how could Matt give me an estimate is he was on vacation. I replied, "He's been on vacation for a month?!" Tomorrow will be one month since he came to my house. AWFUL!!!! Another contractor warned me this might happen. "IF THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT, THEY WON'T GIVE YOU THE TIME OF DAY." The women I spoke to at their office sounded flabbergasted when I shared that information with them. One of them looked on his desk on two separate occasions and found nothing! Make a new appointment and start over! Ignoring me is not going to make either of us happy. If you don't want to do it, just tell me, that is so much easier to handle. Years prior, as a tenant, I asked the workers of RICH ALUMINUM and SIDING if I should remove the pictures from my walls while they were replacing siding and windows. They told me it would not be necessary, I came home to smashed glass and ceramic art and debris in multiple locations of my apartment, No apologies.PATHETIC! DO UNTO OTHERS AND DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!!

He lied, made excuses, did poor work, was always hours late, and sometimes acted aggressively. I…read moredon't understand how he stays in business here, especially since other reviews mention he's been taken to court several times. Bill Dudley gave us an estimate for installing FRP Board in our basement. He measured the space and said it would take two days. He agreed to our deadline and offered a $300 discount if we paid upfront for materials and labor. Since he had done a few small jobs for us before, we agreed. We paid Dudley $3,200 by check, and it cleared the next day. A week later, he still hadn't started the work, saying he was waiting for the check to clear. Sixteen days later, Dudley was finally supposed to start. He showed up late because of another job, and only worked for two hours. Three days went by. He texted to say he had an emergency job and couldn't work on our project that day, even though he had agreed to come. He didn't show up for the next five days and kept giving us different lies and excuses. He finally showed up five days later and worked for two hours. He said he knew how to do this work, but he didn't buy the right glue. He blamed us for asking for a low-odor adhesive. I quickly found the correct low-odor FRP glue online at Home Depot. We told him there couldn't be any more delays and that we would buy the right glue ourselves. Dudley left for lunch while we got the adhesive, but he never came back. He texted that he wouldn't return that day and would finish the project the next day. For the next seven days, he didn't show up again. He either didn't respond or gave more excuses. We told him he needed to finish the job or we would take him to Small Claims Court. Or he could return our $3,200 plus $282.12 for the extra materials we had to buy. Dudley agreed to finish the project on a set date. He worked for 4 hours and 40 minutes, but acted aggressively and disturbingly. Before leaving, he made up a story that our dog bit him. His dark behavior and lying were very concerning. So much so that we told him not to come back or enter our property ever again, or we would call the police. His work was so shoddy that we had to hire another contractor to redo many areas and complete the project. We took Dudley to Small Claims Court, and the Court ruled in our favor.

More aptly named Dudley Doesn't. I hired Bill Dudley to do…read moreroof work the summer of 2019. That October during a heavy rain the entire porch roof was leaking buckets. He avoided all calls and texts. After an award through small claims court for a judgment, which he has not paid, I hired a recovery company to get the funds. At Bill's request for a payment plan which was agreed-upon, he defaulted after one payment. Throughout the entire process he became the king of excuses never showing up as promised and if he did show up left the job because he needed a different ladder or more supplies and never returned. He lied continually and had such a flawed work ethic making a simple job a virtual nightmare. Take notice and do not hire this guy unless you wanna throw your money away and have a frustrating run around with awful results.

Got that? Among the coupons in the Consumer Pak that came in the mail was one for Saratoga Roofing. It said they also did siding in addition to roofing. I figured that might give them an advantage. I called, talked to a real person, and explained what my problem was. I was informed that their estimator, Oleg, would be contacting me to schedule a visit. I received the call from Oleg not more than 30 minutes later. He was able to schedule a visit later that same day. When Oleg arrived, we reviewed the work that needed to be done. Taking advantage of his presence and knowledge, I pointed out a less urgent problem with the soffit in a different section of the house, and a concern I had with some siding at a third location. He assured me that the two soffit problems could be fixed and that I did not need to be concerned about the siding issue. We then agreed upon a price to do the soffit repairs. I was next actually surprised to see that Oleg was prepared to do the repairs right then and there. He unloaded the necessary ladders, tools, and equipment to safely scale the garage roof and fix my major problem. With that section of soffit resolved he moved to the other side of the house and realigned and secured the other soffit. I can't be more pleased with the service, promptness, and work performed by Saratoga Roofing. Oleg was very personable and a pleasure to work with.

First off - roof replacement by a responsible contractor is going to be expensive. That's a fact -…read morejust deal with it. We got prices from three contractors and they were all within a fairly narrow window. We chose Saratoga Roofing primarily based on the quality of the roof inspection. Igor appeared to know what he was talking about, and pointed out both positive and negative things about our old roof that other estimators either didn't see or didn't think was important. We had originally agreed on a date for the work, but then that called to ask if they could move the work forward a few days to avoid a possible weather situation. The crew started arriving at 6:15am and were hard at work by 7am - and they completed the project by 7pm and did a great job of cleaning up. And that was on a day that got well into the 90s. They brought in a large crew - I didn't actually count heads, but there must have been at least 12-15 people. And the way they worked together was amazing to watch - at one point I noted to my wife that it was almost like ballet as they complemented each other. Our roof is complicated - peaks and valleys, and fairly steep. So the bottom line is that we were very pleased with the work they did. I'm sure that there are contractors who might have been less expensive, but this is a job that hopefully we never have to get done again, so I would rather pay a bit more to get it done right.
