We found one through our agent, but it is managed by Ms. Compians realty office (Remax). We liked the house so much we offered to sign a two year contract. Almost immediately, she told us that the owners weren't interested in that long a lease. I found that odd, considering the rent had been dropped due to the house sittting vacant. Anyway, we paid our $60 background check fee (even though our agent had run one). A few days later she told our agent that the fact we filed bankruptcy a few years ago made the owners nervous. To my knowledge, she never spoke with the company we currently rent from. Our agent tried calling and texting her multiple times. She ignored his attempts to contact her. He was finally able to speak with her today,, only to be told she had rented it this morning. This entire affair has seemed shady and suspicious on her part from the beginning.
