You are trusting hard earned money to any financial institution. This particular Credit Union has…read morehorrible customer service. Never a good business practice to talk over customers to "banksplain". Understand that with this CU, they will aggressively seek your money for CDs and other investment vehicles and at the end of your term (26 months in my case) you will be notified (by mail, in 8 pt font) that you have 10 days to renew, switch, transfer, or withdraw your money. Understand that 10 days is NOT business days and does not consider holidays (New Years Day). Ok fine. Your money will be rolled into another CD. If you call 7 business days (11 calendar days) sorry, you will be penalized HEAVILY (nearly $800 in my case). You have no one to speak to that will listen to your grievance including 3 receptionist/tellers. When you ask to speak to Megan (the "manager") you will leave 3 voice messages and she still will not call you. You will have to keep calling until they get frustrated enough to take your call. The customer is NOT always right, but should be listened to and taken seriously. Especially when money is involved. DO NOT TRUST Northern Colorado CU with your money.

I am a big fan of credit unions and Security Service is one of the best I've dealt with. When we…read moremade the offer on our new home in Greeley in 2016, we lived out of state and were not members of this credit union. Because we were out-of-state buyers, the seller wanted a cashier's check for the earnest deposit immediately. We went to Security Service because they were the closest credit union to the house we wanted to buy. They went out of their way to get us the cashier's check we needed and even waived the fees for doing so. Recently, we had to make some major repairs to the property and needed to finance the work. Security Service to the rescue once again! They took the time to listen to our needs and found a program that would be the best fit for us. They even approved us instantly for the loan. I can't say enough good things about this credit union.

I've never had such an unnecessarily difficult experience over something so basic. I attempted to…read moredeposit a check made out to me that I properly signed over to my mother ("pay to the order of") into *her* account. This was a **deposit**, not a request to cash the check. I am also a beneficiary on her account. The supervisor, Tanya, immediately shut it down with "this isn't a check-cashing service," which showed a clear lack of understanding of what was actually being requested. Another employee later processed the deposit without issue, proving it was possible all along. After we simply called to get the supervisor's name for reference, I was contacted and told to come back to the branch to pick up the check because Tanya decided to reverse the transaction. That level of pettiness and inconsistency is unacceptable. My family has banked here for years without problems, yet this interaction was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. We took the same check to my mother's other bank and completed the deposit in under two minutes. The contrast in competence and customer service was night and day. If this branch wants to keep long-term customers, they need to seriously address how situations like this are handled.

NO. I made principle payments, it doesn't work like that. I've talked to no less than 5 different people about this in person, as well as gotten into 3 frustrated discussions with the teller manager. The best they could offer is talk to the loan department. How about no, how about you send your colleague an email and inquire as to why you may have an upset customer. That's not their job though, apparently. These people are either incompetent or malicious. I refinanced elsewhere, got a 1.5% better interest rate, and now when I make my payments, there's an extra field in the app for principal only payments. That's all I wanted.
