This is the worst business I've ever dealt with and I would strongly recommend that anybody who needs driving instruction not deal with this business. First my son took the online instruction. Part way through his online instruction the program simply froze. We contacted Overbeke and we contacted their owner, Ari Klarfeld. We were told that Overbeke doesn't, in fact, administer the online course but instead they delegate that out to a separate company. We would have to deal with that company even though we paid Overbeke and not that separate company. I then spent 2 weeks trying to get through to that separate company. I finally threatened that I was going to contact the State of Ohio and only then did they respond to my emails. They finally solved the technical problem and my son was able to complete his online instruction. Thereafter we endeavored to complete his in-car instruction. Unfortunately the online instruction had been delayed so long that his temp expired and we had to renew it. After we renewed it we found out that Overbeke was booking 3 months in advance. We reluctantly booked his lessons 3 months in advance and then the day before his first lesson the instructor texted me and canceled. I reached out to the owner of Overbeke to reschedule his lesson and was told I would have to wait another 2 months for in-car lessons. This is a horrible company. They have no brick-and-mortar office. They list an address on Mercantile Road in Beachwood but if you go there it's closed, no one is there, and the door has a lockbox on it. I think they may hold classroom instruction there on occasion but nobody staffs this office on a regular basis. I have never been able to reach a person using their phone number. I have never received a return call despite my multiple phone calls to Overbeke with my multiple complaints. I have rarely received a return text and I have occasionally received a return email. There is no customer service and we wasted 1.5 years trying to get my son's license and finally had to get his in-car instruction with a different company. I would strongly recommend that anybody thinking about hiring this company use somebody else. When I went to the Mercantile Road location I actually bumped into another father with his daughter, also trying to figure out what was going on. Apparently their lesson had been canceled as well. This is a horrible company.

They are booked out 3 months and everything is during the day, kids are in school. I find it almost fraudulent that you are required to do the training per the state and you pay these driving schools yet the driving schools do not allow you to complete the requirement within a 6 month time frame. Kids should be able to get their license within a reasonable time, a fee is paid therefore the services should be offered and reasonable. Now I need to find another place for in car and pay again, the Heights was paid yet they are unable to fulfill the services paid for.

The standard package at the time was $495, so we paid an additional $130 specifically for those extra services. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, we were never able to schedule those additional services. The online system would not allow scheduling, and the only alternative date offered was during the school day. The school issued my daughter's completion certificate without providing any of the additional services we paid for. When she struggled with maneuverability during her driving test, we had to seek instruction elsewhere from another driving school. After two short lessons from that other driving school, she successfully passed and received her license. When I requested a refund of the $130 premium we paid for services that were never delivered, Heights Driving School refused to issue a full refund. After several emails, although they acknowledged the extra services were not provided, they never explained why they believed they were entitled to keep money for services that were never delivered. My concern is less about the money and more about the principle. Consumers should not have to pay for services that are advertised, purchased, and never provided. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Heights Driving School. It is a pity because I had attend this driving school ages ago when I was a teen myself.

Another thing is the degrading and the name calling wouldn't stop in the classroom. If you asked him to clarify if you were turning left or right he would call you "slow" or "retarded". There was even one time where I asked "you said make a right, correct?" And he must have not been paying attention because he said yes. However there was no right hand turn that could be made, only straight and left. He continued to scream at me for this when I even asked him a second time which direction to go and he gave me a direction that wasn't even a possibility. He brags about making all of his female students cry during in-cars with him and it seems to be a thing he tries to do. He is the most unprofessional person for the job this includes but is not limited to smoking on the job, making fun of disabled kids constantly, encouraging bullying in his classroom, screaming at teenagers when he is the one who made a mistake, etc. if you are looking for a driving school for your teenager don't go here. My son completed the in school portion from 1/4/21-1/14/21. Passed the required test@96%. We were told on 1/14/21 that there was 5 people in front of him for the in car portion& that we would be given dates. After 2 weeks, I contacted Keith, only to get text messages back with no dates. After speaking to another parent, having the same issues, Keith was confronted in person by both parents. I learned that my son's in car portion wouldn't be until the end of April. Completely unacceptable. Keith then stated that he has 6 months by law to complete his program which is false.The teenagers have up to 6 months to complete the course due to school, sports, work, etc. I requested a refund of the in car portion of my payment& withdrew my son. I also requested my son's in school hours& test results so that I could get him enrolled in another school. Keith did submit his records but I had to receive them from his outside mailbox. I also had to contact the Ohio Department of Public Safety to get permission to enroll my son in another school just for the in car portion.As of today, I still have not received my refund nor KNOW the exact amount of my refund that I will be receiving. My refund should be $170, which is 1/2 of my $340 cash payment. Only 1/2 of his services was rendered. No where on my written contract does it states that the instructor has legally 6 months to complete his training course. My money was taken, the first half of his course was given immediately, then you are sitting, waiting on the in car portion with no actual phone calls back. Text messages are the ONLY form of communication after you pay your initial $340. I did not do my homework as a parent, I looked for reviews on this business, after the fact. There are multiple complaints on the same issues, dating back to 2018.I have since enrolled my son in another school just for the in car portion, received dates@ the time of enrollment. PLEASE do your research before booking& paying.
