It's raining so we are waiting in the ship at the top of the walkway for the shuttle. My friend went to the bathroom while we were waiting. Well, the cab shows up in 3 minutes and I get a call. I tell them we still need a ride and that we'll come down as soon as my friend gets out of the bathroom. When he does, the shuttle is just leaving to go back down the walkway. I call the number back to say that we missed the shuttle this time, but will be on the next one. But, I only got a voicemail, not an actual person. It's still raining hard. So we wait for the next shuttle trip. We get on the shuttle and look down to make sure the cab is still waiting and it was. Well, when the shuttle gets to the bottom, the cab is gone. I called the dispatcher back and he said that the "driver had left for another fare. It will take 35 minutes to get another driver there." I asked why the driver couldn't have waited 30 seconds at least for the shuttle to get to the bottom. But, he didn't care and just said "Sorry, it's raining." Such poor customer service. I have now been waiting almost 35 minutes for a different taxi company to show up.

Dunes provided everything from extra towels in the room without us having to ask for them, to the full washer and dryer and kitchen with all the dishes, spices, etc. The only thing they didn't have was WiFi but that ended up GREAT because we had to turn off all cells/iPads and actually got to vacation without all the madness and distractions of technology. Yep, the Dunes took us back to old-school and we had the BEST time ever! We will never stay anywhere else. Thanks Dunes! We'll be back soon!

She stood there, glaring through the window, and made "phone" gestures as if she was going to call the police. I will NEVER come back here, and will make it a point to let people know about the awful experience we had. We ended up staying at Casa Condominiums where they were very welcoming and accommodating. Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. We got her take on restaurants and took her up on a few of her suggestions. Check in and check out were as easy as the beach breeze.

Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. TIP: Hang on to your keys - only fees are for lost keys!
