Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. If you have ever done a search for a house in Port Aransas, then you've stumbled on the only search friendly website - www.stayinporta.com Julian & Melissa Sergeant are the owners/operators of this somewhat small business. Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. The rental property we stayed at was fantastic, especially for what we paid! The price we typically pay for a studio type condo got us a 1-bedroom with Beachcombers. The condo was clean, refurbished, a short walk from the beach, and just a delight to stay in. We had one snag when we were there and it just showed us the responsiveness of the company. Our cable was out when we got to the condo and we couldn't figure out how to get it working. We called the office the next day and within a couple of hours Melissa had her maintenance guy out to fix it. We didn't even have to be there when he came so by the time we got back from lunch our TV was back up and running. Melissa was so friendly and helpful, and didn't seem bothered at all when I called multiple times, to check in, to ask questions, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this company - go make a reservation now!! :-D read more

We recently spent the weekend at one of their rental properties (2 adults & 3 kids - ages 8, 4, & 2 years) and it was a great experience! This was our first time using them but it won't be our last! We were pleased there were plenty of sleeping spaces for our family and appreciated the extras provided such as the tower fans in each room, blow dryer , and plenty of towels . My family and I spent a long weekend at Port Aransas in the Shore Thing Sandhill Townhome. While the townhome itself was AMAZING.....but the EXTRA guests were not. We went to make coffee the first morning and roaches ran everywhere when the coffee pot was moved. My mom's downstairs tv didnt work and when they came to fix it i told her about the bugs and was told she would call when we left for pest control. We bought Raid and saw no more that day. The next evening while bbqing we saw another roach crawled up the stove wall. We threw that food away and sprayed again. While i was totally grossed out i didnt eat again there! Then the next day we saw a huge cockroach in one of the closets while were getting ready to leave! When we checked out and I informed them about all the bugs we found and how i ran from roaches the entire time. I was again told that she would call pest control the next day....what that did for our visit i dont know :( . I am so sad because we loved the house just HATED the roaches. ..now we have to shop again for another place to make our annual summer family vacation house. And by the way the downstairs TV....never started working. read more
