We stopped at Two Tall Tavern while spending the weekend in Lake Country, and it was a great place to grab a meal. We were especially happy they were open on the 4th of July! It's your classic bar and grill with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. One fun surprise was the unique popcorn they served--it had a little kick to it and was really tasty. All of our dishes came with little American flags, which was a festive touch. The kids also loved checking out the fun statues outside while we were there. The only downside was that our beers were served almost warm, which was a little disappointing. Met family here for dinner. The service was excellent and food was really good. The space inside is quite big, but wasn't too loud. We were easily able to enjoy our conversation and meal. Everything came out piping hot and fresh. We ordered mozzarella sticks, tater tot barrels, chicken wings, burgers, and 1/4 order of nachos (which was huge). On the chicken wings we ordered Jamaican curry rub, garlic parmesan and sweet red chili sauces. All three were good but my favorite was the garlic parm sauce. Stopped in for dinner with family. The business has a large parking lot, and the inside is large with plenty of room. We had great service, and the food was really good although the portions/size of the mozzarella sicks and burgers were small for the price. The size of the wings were across the board. While some were quite large, others were small. The amount of nachos, was impressive. A quarter size was ordered and we were all astonished at the amount. It's fine, it's a tavern! For the last six or seven years my wife and I fly out from California to meet up with friends and family at Campfire Bay Resort across the street. And every year we have a pizza night. Guess what? 2 Tall makes pizza. It's not great pizza but it's good enough after a few days of fishing and cooking for the kids. On other occasions we stop by to have a couple of beers and maybe some live music they have playing. Who doesn't like that! Never have had a problem with ordering food from them or any one at the tavern itself. It's definitely in a stand alone kinda place which I like... out of the way. Last words...a cold one! read more

Nice place to stop in for a meal through Cushing. Drinks are stiff, food tastes great and lots of options! I had the walleye sandwich. Service is great and there's even a robot bringing food from the kitchen to the front for to go orders. Typical Minnesota bar and grill ambiance, which is great! After a round of golf we headed to 2 Tall Tavern for food! Service was great and friendly! The popcorn was a perfect start!! I enjoyed a Cosmo while my partner a tall beer! Dinner was the grilled cheese on texas toast and a pork tenderloin sandwich! Those are rare to find this far north but was perfect!!! Thanks for a great meal!! Heading to a cabin in the area, there are limited options for food so we stopped here. Right when we walked in I could tell that we would be treated different since we weren't locals. Seems like a much better place for locals and families in contrast to a friend group of young adults. We ordered drinks with our dinner and I ordered a walleye sandwich to split. Definitely recommend splitting it since it is pretty large (only half pictured). Was a decent meal. The fish was cooked well but had a decent amount of small bones. The bread for the sandwich was not too thick or chewy so it was toasted nicely. The fries were below average and I wouldn't suggest ordering them again. Really enjoyed the tartar sauce on the sandwich. The service overall was pretty slow and our waitress helped the other tables that sat after we did so that was disappointing. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, and if I was in the area I'd find a different option. read more

We have been visiting 2 Tall Tavern for a couple years, service & food have been good. However we visited on Sunday 5/14 Mother's Day to meet most of the family. The waitress was quite rude the whole time we were there, once we received our food the waitress disappeared. Ordered a patty melt, it came on slightly toasted bread and only a well done burger - no cheese - no onions. Will not be ordering that off the menu in the future. read more

This is a really fun place in the Motley, Staples, Lake Shamineau area. Easy to bring the whole family. Bartender, Briana, made my visits memorable! I've been here several times. The food is good. The waitstaff are amazing. I was a little upset with the owner this last time however. It was very busy. We sat outside. There was only one server. She was running her tail off. The owner stood there and didn't even help her get orders drinks or even help bus tables. He just sat there and watched. When confronted about it, he just walked away and sat at the bar inside. That is horrible. The server was amazing however. She did the best she could. We tipped her very well. read more

My husband and I were looking for a quick late lunch and stumbled upon this bar! We both had beers and they are Massive!!! I couldn't even finish mine! I also had a bloody which was really good too! We each ordered burgers. I got a side salad with mine. Burgers were amazing! Hand made patties, super juicy and flavorful! My side salad was huge so I shared it with my husband. He was very thankful for that because He got fries...which unfortunately were soggy and undercooked..they could have used a few more minutes in the fryer and could have been good. we waited an hour before waitress even stopped at our table. owner sat us right away and took drink order but then sat at the bar drinking while there was one staff member for the evening. there were only three other tables besides us so taking an hour to even stop at our table was ridiculous. took so long to even get an order in I paid right away when we got our food otherwise I didn't know how long that process would take later on. after that she never stopped at our table again. plus, had four young kids with us and its hard for them to have to wait over an hour to get their dinner. We had a group of 8. We ordered drinks which took about 20 min to get. One of the drinks was wrong another wasn't even there. The server was going to get the last two drinks. A little over 25 min later, we still haven't gotten the other two drinks nobody asked us if we wanted to order anything to eat (Which we all did). I went up to the bar and advised the server that the two drinks she never brought out she could cancel because we were leaving. She told me she was putting them in now. I told her don't bother, everyone else is done and we're going somewhere else to get a drink and food. A couple minutes later, the owner comes over and apologizes for the server. He says she's new and not working out at all. He says what are you supposed to do follow her around and babysit her? Then I may as well do it myself. Well what about the customer? are we supposed to just not get served? If you don't follow them around and train them, how are they supposed to learn? After all that, He didn't even take the drinks off that we didn't get or the ones she messed up on much less try to make anything right. We've been coming up there for quite a while but never again. The owner showed his true colors yesterday. He didn't seem to care at all that we were treated like SHIT!!! His answer to everything was "Well I think I'm just going to fire her tomorrow anyway." We just tried 2 Tall Tavern tonight for a quick supper. I must say we liked the way the place was cleaned up with new tables and more space. We had a California burger and A chicken burger both with fries. They we're good and the service was fast and friendly. We had a drink and a beer which were also very good. The thing that impressed us most was the fact that the new owner made a point to come to our table and introduce himself and ask how our experience was.
