WHY I shouldn't have CHOSEN 24-HOUR TRANSLATION SERVICES? Of all the services I contacted, this agency had the least manners, bordering on rudeness. They never greeted me, or exchanged any common niceties in our email exchanges. After seeing my document in my native language, and after I had asked for a Farsi to English translation, he asked me which language was it?! If you don't recognize the language, how can you translate from the original to English? I told you what I needed was Farsi to English.... Next, there was the question about my name. My name was clearly spelled out in my email transactions. When you request the code, all the information is there to be referenced. I had to send a strongly worded email saying that 24-Hour Translation Services had not responded to my email's and I had been waiting for three days. He charged me $10 for USPS 3 day service, which costs $7.95. Imagine they take 100 documents to the post each day - that's a tidy profit of $305 each day, just for mailing out documents. So in the end, the 24-Hour Translation Services took for me 182 Hours of Translation Service and I cannot recommend them to any other person in urgent need. Spend a little extra money on a more polished company, and you may be able to leave another translation service more than 1 star. read more

This company was recommended to me. We have a lot of translation work to be done, and they seemed the most responsive for a first project. So, this guy, Peter, is quick to send an invoice before the work is done, and I pay it. Then 24 hours turn into 216 hours. Because I have other stuff to do, it finally dawned on me that I have not heard from the guy since I paid. Literally felt like he took the money and ran. So I email and call. In our first conversation, the guy (Peter?) has to get off the phone to 'look into it'. He calls back, and explains that 'things slip through the cracks', 'these kinds of things happen', etc. I throw in that, dude - 24 hour translation is your business name. He says, 'We're always here and will always pick up the phone or answer an email.' Cool. That's a basic expectation of pretty much anyone at a company. But I'm the customer. I paid you. Do the work in the expected time frame and you call me when it's done. He gets defensive with 'we're the best translation service in Texas.' Not on this order. He starts to argue, saying "You're pointing fingers, that we did this or didn't do that..." Because he's already lost a customer at this point, I want to end the call. "When will this be ready?" "Today." (It's 3pm PST, so 4/5pm TX time?) "Will you have time to proofread it, as you promised in your original email?" (it's a 20-page company brochure) "Yes". Ok, but now I don't trust the quality. So, the guy got the translation back around 8pm or so, and I'm going to have at least 2 people proofread this thing while I go get in touch with the translation service I should have called first. Pros: Translation was done in the brochure's design. Text was where it was supposed to be. Cons: The call could have gone so much better, but dude tanked it by getting defensive. You lost track of the order - just be honest, tell me, apologize, and if you want to keep my business, refund some of the money because I got a 216 hour translation and attitude from the guy, when I expected a 24 hour translation. read more
